How far can VRO pump?
« on: August 17, 2011, 03:05:31 PM »
I have a '78 196 Fam Fish. I have no where to store battery and VRO in the stern. I hate anything out on deck. So I am pondering some under seat boxes. I would like to put the VRO and batteries up there. Can the VRO be that far from engine? Should be about 6' linear, about 10' of oil line and wireing. I would love to hear some imput. The engine is a 89 150 Evy.

Never really measured the hose but mine was mounted in the console of my 222 CCP. I would think there was at least 10' of hose snaked through there and out 26" beyond the transom (bracket mounted motor).

The oil siphons that far, no problem. (don't ask) :o

I once heard of a VRO pump that pumped all the way out to the ledge and half way back!

I'm here- usually scanning during my down-time at work, or the scraps of free time I'm allotted at home.  I've been told by the gal you're referring to that a large portion of my time needs to be "Quality Time", which our individual definitions of vary greatly       Really, though, I can't complain  :D

Good to see you more active over here pops    Hope you stick around.
