Morse Hydraulic Steering
« on: August 09, 2011, 01:43:41 PM »
I have an older Morse Hydraulic steering helm and ram on my 1989 AS 222 Sandpiper. Overall, the system is in very good shape and works well. I recently developed a leak back at the ram and am in need of a seal kit. Teleflex, who acquired Morse discontinued this unit. Does anyone know where I can get a seal kit or if there is one that is interchangeable? Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Ralph,
Contact my friend Marc at Teleflex, madams@teleflex.bc.ca.  He may know of an interchangable seal kit.  Good Luck, it may be time to "modernize", or, if you take the end caps off the cylinder, a good hyd shop may have direct replacement seals...

Thanks Bob, just sent him an email. I called a local hydraulic shop and they kind of blew me off. I just spent quite a bit of money on a new enclosure and new electronics so would love to salvage this one if I can.

Ralph, must be a Philly thing!   Stop into a shop, and if you can pull the old O-rings out (that's all they are), they should be able to match them up for you.
