HI TO ALL I HAVE BEEN CHECKING THIS SITE OUT FOR A WHILE NOW, AND JUST JOINED GLAD I DID, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS BOAT FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW AND PICKED IT UP THIS PAST WEEKEND, THIS IS NOT MY FIRST BOAT, BUT IT IS MY FIRST IN THIS CONDITION AND THAT BRINGS ME TO THE QUESTION, ON THIS BOAT IT SEEMS THAT FROM THE RUB RAIL UP ALL THE GEL COAT HAS EITHER BROKEN AND FLAKED OFF OR SOMEBODY REMOVED IT THEN REPAINTED WITH WHAT SEEMS TO BE HOUSE PAINT AND IF THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH THEY DECIDED TO ADD A BLACK SPLATTER EFFECT, IT IS ONE UGLY BOAT, BUT SEXY. NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO TO REPAIR THIS I HAVE NEVER USED GEL COAT BUT A FRIEND OF MINE OWNS A PAINT AND BODY SHOP MY QUESTION IS CAN I USE THE FIBER FILLED BODY FILLER TO SMOOTH OUT THE FIBER GLASS THAT HAS NO GEL COAT. BY THE WAY I ONLY PAID 1500 FOR THE BOAT WITH NEW WHEELS AND TIRES AND HUBS ON A DUAL AXLE ALUMINUM TRAILER, IT HAS AN 85 JOHNSON 120 THAT SEEMS TO RUN GREAT, SO I AM HAPPY. ANY AND ALL HELP IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
HERE IS A LINK TO PHOTO BUCKET I COULD NOT SEEM TO UPLOAD ON THIS SITE YET I WILL POST BETTER PICS TOMORROW

Someone spent some serious coin on that tower; appears very nice. That was $3K+ by itself. So you got a running engine, hull and trailer for free. The issue with the tower is it is very specific to that boat and really not saleable unless someone else wants one for the same hull. Thats a big tower for a 20ft boat. It would probably work much better on a 246FF if you could find one and they are around.

YEAH THATS WHAT I THOUGHT ALSO THIS IS MY FIRST BOAT WITH TOWER I FIGURE ITS GONNA BE A LITTLE ROCKY ON THE WATER BUT FOR THE MONEY ITS WORTH A SHOT, I FIGURE ITS GONNA BE A LITTLE UNDER POWERED ALSO. I DONT GO OUT INTO THE GULF I STAY INSIDE THE BAY SO IT WILL GET ME THROUGH FOR A WHILE MY PLAN IS TO CLEAN HER UP AND PAINT HER. THEN MAYBE FIND SOMETHING A LITTLE BIGGER.
I LOVE THE WATER AND EVERYTHING IT BRINGS, MY DREAM BOAT IS A WALK AROUND SO UNTIL I CAN GET A GOOD DEAL ON THAT THIS BOAT IS GONNA BE MY MISTRESS.

BlueCivic,
I know nothing about working with paint and gelcoat, but I want to say congratulations on your boat - you must be stoked !! - and welcome to this forum. We will be looking forward to seeing how your boat shapes up and as well as hearing your upcoming adventures on the water - with photos of course !!
I will (try to) PM a document captured from this site that will help you with the photo posting.
Welcome and cheers, T

BlueCivic,
I copied these instructions off of some post here on CA... whoever posted this originally, I hope you don't mind that I am passing it on to someone who needs help...
These instructions helped me, hopefully same for you.
Cheers, T
1: Go to your Bucket account, open and double click on this (the one you gave me the link to) photo.
2. Place cursor on the top left of photo, tool bar will appear, place cursor on EDIT then click on RESIZE
3. In a few moments a new window will open (call it the re-size window) with your photo and a tool bar above it.
Note the photo size in the tool bar. Since this site (Classic Aquasport) only limits posted photos to 800 pix wide X 600 pix long you must re-size it in order to post it. So.....
4. Photo Bucket has preset sizes you can use. They are in a 4:3 ratio and you will notice them in the toolbar just below the width measurement (1022px in this case). Also notice that you can manually enter the pixel size for both width and height. Also note that there are two selections you can make when manually selecting the number of pixels. Unless you're a photo genius
make sure you have the " keep proportions" box checked. This keeps your photo in the standard 4:3 ratio mentioned above. Why is this important? Under normal conditions, you hold the camera in the standard position and your photo is taken in the 4:3 ratio. Tilting the camera on end (like your sig pic) alters the width to height ratio. By leaving the keep proportion box checked, you can enter 600 px (or lower) in the height box and the width will automatically change for a proper photo size. Remember, if the numbers are greater than 800 for the width and 600 for the height, the photo is too large to post on the Aqua site. You must re-size!
5. This is where most members screw up. After you set the proper size you must do two (2) additional steps. First, click on the APPLY button on the right side of the tool box. Nothing much will seem to happen. Now scroll down and click on the
Replace Original button. It's located underneath and to the right of your photo. If you do not complete this step, you will never place the proper size photo on the Aqua site. This is the thing most members do not do.
6.After clicking on the Replace Original button, the screen will take a few moments to do its thing and a new window will magically appear. Scroll down and look to the left and you will notice several options for "sharing your photo". Click on the bottom one and notice how a little yellow box appears to the left saying "copied".
That's it, you're done.
Go back to your post and place your re-sized photo into the post where you want it by pushing "Ctrl + V" (at the same time) and it will appear as a link. By previewing your post before submitting, you can check that you did everything correctly and that the link now appears as the photo.

great thanks alot guys and sorry for the caps force of habbit on some other sites i post at, i like doing that in adds to get attention when i am trying to sell stuff. i will try that with the pics thanks for the info, i put it in the water today it floats, but the 120 vro wont go past 3000 rpm`s in gear out of gear it will rev all they way to 6000 no problem. so now i have another issue to deal with. gonna check out the S.L.O.W tomorrow and coils, and then go from there, i am an automotive technician and a pretty good one at that, so i hope it should be a quick find on what is going on but if some body here has had this issue in the past with one of there engines and found the problem it would make my work a little easier. i have learned in the past that even after 20 years working on engines carbed and efi`s that its always good to have input from others.

needs to be painted, not much different than auto painting, sand, fill and fair low spots, prime and paint, spray, brush or use the roll and tip method, just use marine grade paints and fillers, tons of info out there on painting, you can simply sand it smooth and brush on some topside paint of have a pro do a custom paint job,up to you and your budget.
