That's sure what WM wants people to think with what they get for them.

OK Bob,
Now that the chum as had time to soak.... I've been running NGK's for 25 years without any issues. It's been the standard plug in Merc's for almost 30 years. Now when I go to Autozone to buy them they are $6.00 each. The only reason I replace them is because its been so long I cant remember how long they've been in there unless I check my maintenance records and its been 5 years. I have a 2000 9.9 Merc on the 66' Orlando clipper and it still has the original plugs! I would run them in my 63' IH cub tractor, flat head I4 60 cubic inch but NGK doesnt make the huge 7/8 thread plugs she has in her.

Just replaced my NGK B8HS-10s in my 91 Yamaha.
Never used them in an outboard before but my motorcycles and lawn equipment thrives on them.
It seems to take an "Act of God" to foul them so.......

$2.09 ea. at Advance Auto.
$2.99 at West Marine.

Fitz,
Maybe a post photo of the OC. It was my first "sole ownership" craft (15'-1") in my early boating days. :thumright:

Bob I had been using NGK BPR7HS plugs with no problem, was getting them from Advanced Auto, well Auto Zone opened up down the road and i went there and asked about plugs and the Champions were cheaper then NGKs,since Champions are the reccomended plug for my motor and cheaper to boot i went with them, but nothing wrong with NGKs,great plugs.

Yep,
The Champs were all I've ever used in my JohnnyRudes.

This is my first Yamaha outboard and I was a bit surprised to find the NGKs so cheap but.....
They seem to run well in the motor. Personally, I believe it's the oil blending (VRO) technique of the old Yammy.

I'm just sayin'
