One month out now!  We need to start finalizing - let's turn some ideas into real plans.

John is right.

By my figuring, we've got a hard number of 3 boats coming with their respective captains-

John's CCP
Lewis' 22-2
My 19-6

As I've mentioned before, The water gets real rough sometimes just out of the Jetties in Charleston Harbor.  We could put in near Folly, and the conditions would most likely be a tad better, but then you miss out on seeing all the Land(water)marks in Charleston Harbor.  If the 3 of us can decide on what type of fishing we want to do, that would help me put together an itinerary on the water.  I know a few guides that will help increase our chances with their valuable input.

I know John's got a trolling motor on his rig, as do I, so we could fish the Wando River for Reds and Trout, which is always promising, but that kind of leaves Lew at a disadvantage unless he mounts a trolly motor soon or just wants to anchor up.  There is a nearshore Reef just a few miles N-NW of the Jetties where I've caught all kinds sizely fish and Doormat size Flounder with simple bottom fishing rigs, but the weather will dictate whether that'd be a viable spot for me and Lew.  Leaving out from Folly Beach is a pretty good haul on the road from Charleston, and the closest reef is about 20 miles out... How confident are you guys with your engines?

Hey Scott (Mackeral Master [hey maybe that could be your new title]), what say you on fishing?  I'm nowhere close to your skills and wisdom when it comes to Kings, but we do have King tournaments here sometimes, and I hear they can be caught just inside the Harbor...

Let me know what you think  :thumright:     :silent:    :D ????

Jess, good ideas. I'm up for anything the rest of you guys would like to do. I've fished for reds, specs, and flounder too, and have right much tackle for same. And it certainly is easier to prep for those than a KM trip.

If ya'll (the captains) decide what to go for, I'll bring all the tackle I have. Weatherwise...we need a nice, light-wind day for king fishing. Otherwise it's a bear, a chore...and possibly queasy fisherfolk. The backwater fishing is not nearly as weather dependant.

Regardless...we'll have a blast. Looking forward to seeing you guys, and our new friends too!

Edit PS:

Hey Lew, didn't you have a brand new Great White you were gonna put on the 19-6? tx

Since we started the "Groups" it looks like we'll have to name our gathering the "FL gathering" going forward.  :salut:

Speaking of "Fla gathering", is there a fall gathering in the works? My vote would be for Bunces Pass. Could be more central for the upstate fellas and good fishing in the bay or offshore.

Yup, starting to confuse the groups now. Where ya been Woody - we held it there for 2+ years.  It is a nice pass. Next one is in Boca and then for Spring we can choose another.

If any of us take the time to do this again I think we will think about it a lot harder if nobody responds to this thread! So come on and let us know!!!!  Heck you don't have to bring your boat!!! You can ride with one of us. So what do we need to do to get a commitment?

A direct quote from our Classic Aquasport Social Director. And I like what Lew said on the phone this afternoon...we're not an internet site..we're a CLUB.

So if we're a club...let's be a club. I'm with Lewis...and  Jessie...and John. Who's coming?

You boys who voted for Charleston...are you coming?  Or not?

Please state your intentions...yea or nay...and your fellow club members will thank you.

One way or the other...at least we'll know.

Thank you.

Scott did a great job putting this together last year and was a great host :salut:   I was always taught "don't fix what isn't broke".  I would just have kept it simple with no voting polls, etc.  We knew what we had last year and it was great.  Thanks Scott :salut:

I hope you guys can get it worked out, but from looking at this thread no one has stepped up to organize much at this point.  Not trying at all to insult anyone, just making an observation.

Hope you guys have a great time

Well shipmates, I wasn't going to bring my boat, but was seriously considering flying up, but today received a call from one of my regular business customers, and they want a big party on the 15th, so I will be doing a BBQ catering.  The $$ is too good to pass up, plus they are a twice a year regular customer.  Maybe the next....
