Were the 19-1 and 19-6 ever made at the same time?
« on: February 05, 2006, 11:15:45 AM »
I have a 1971 19-1, does anyone know exactly what years it was made in and if it was the predecessor to the 19-6? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Kaczki,

From a 1971 price & options brochure...

Based on this list, the 19-1 predated the 19-6 and was probably dropped from production when the 19-6 was introduced.

Found a collector on the net who had a fair amount of AS literature.  We came to terms so now I have it.  Have scanned all of it and am working with steved to determine the best way for getting it all available online.

More from the same brochure:

Do you know what the difference is between the "osprey" and the "gull" model 19-1?

Can't help you there.  Most likely the options made the difference.  Maybe outboard vs. I/O?  Somewhere in the literature is mention of a diesel inboard option for one of the models, probably the 22-2 or the 240.
