You mean the box behind the passenger helm seat?

A few weeks ago I replaced all the drain hoses in my 215 DC. My arms were black and blue from armpit to wrist and most clamps were tightened by feel only. The boat certainly was not built with the thought of having to replace hoses in the future.

No, it wasn't. Regardless of who builds them, OEMs don't really care about chit needing replacement 10, 20, 30 years down the road.  They just want to sell new boats...

Trust me. I know...

You should be able to get to it through the pie plate over the gas tank but it's gonna be tight.

Keep this in mind.  The drain had to be accessed after the boat was decked to hook up the hose, either the deck side or the hull side.  That being said, where is the access point?  Inside the tub on the aft vertical face?  And if you "know" that the hose came off, yet can't see it, how do you know?

I had a quick 2 minutes to pop the pie plate over the gas tank on deck, reached my arm into the port side towards where the hose/drain should be and I did not reach the hose.  Unless I did not reach far enough, I'm thinking it might be around the port side pie plate.  Will try tomorrow as I had my daughter in  my truck and could not spend time at the boat.

Was everyone that built these boats 85#'s soak n wet ??  If I can't get to that drain fitting, hose/clamp or however its connected I may just have to cut that tub out around the top an reseal it as best as I can

Prior discussion has it that they were quite thin...they even had a name for them. They were from parts elsewhere. Maybe SB will fill in.

I had a guy that worked for me that was a small American Indian. 5' and 120#'s soaking wet. But you wouldn't want to mess with him....he was an expert with throwing weapons.

In Vietnam...he was a tunnel rat. The LEAD tunnel rat.

Try this, pop that other plate and reach down with a camera with flash on and snap some picks,i did that when i rewired my fuel sending unit, had a wire hung up,same area as you just the other side of the boat and it helped alot.
