Based on the green windshield I would guess mid to late 70's :?:

Just checked the history thread....sometime after '70. Didn't say specifically what year the 17's began production, so...but she's definitely somewhere in the 70's....'73 to '75 maybe, but just a stab.

If she had a big crack in the forward third...she'd be a '75 8)

I would venture 71ish.  In 72 they moved the rear cleats into their own little notch-outs.  Can't really see enough of the front deck.  The front seat is late 71ish.
First 170 we have found is a recent members '70.  Have docs in the gallery on that.

I would say it is post 1972.  It has two wide set drain plugs.  The early boats had two drains directly under the engine.  It looks like a clean ride.

She's a beauty. I figured I'd call the owner and make an inquiry...so I did earlier tonight. He sold it this afternoon.

However, although it was sold...I asked for the year...and he told me.

Ya'll remember the "Guess the dolphin weight" game? Now that was FUN. Can't play on this one, since I know the answer....but lets play horseshoes....closest one to the correct year wins two bottles of damn good small-batch Carolina BBQ sauce....shipped to your door, courtesy of me

NO CALLING THE CONTACT.. gentleman's honor.

Come on boys...place your bets!

CB,

This is most likely an improper contest venue (Classifieds). Sorry to ask you to move it to "Chum" or whatever, of course your preference...but should prove some good fun. Thanks.

This is gonna be some fun!

We began with speculation. Some have given specific answers...but we should allow the ones who offered input initially  to make a firm choice.

Come one, come all. One year wins. So far there are some great choices, but those that came on first and didn't choose specifically (JD, Rick, akbridge)  you guys should have first right to pick a specific year. So post up your year!

Hope this sounds fair to all.

First post in that hits the correct year wins :bounce:    :bounce:

Gonna throw in some ENC stone-ground seafood breader too...ooooh baby!

And hey...newbies...you can play too

I agree that the early hulls had the narrow drains - because the engine mounts were narrow back then.  Mine still has the narrow drains and the engine mount covers them    Maybe the transom has been redone on this boat
I wonder what all the blocks around the cap are there for? Coasters?

Cover holes that were there, down riggers, too many rod holders, screw holes from year's past of mounting stuff.. I did the same with my old Chris Craft, but used Starboard shaped and routed edges.

BTW, the link is dead... someone who actually stays on top of their CL ad....
