Had a weather issue this afternoon!
« on: June 01, 2011, 09:22:06 PM »
Think a minor tornado passed directly over the house about 2:00 this afternoon, spared us, but hit the neighbors trees pretty hard...

Not to mention the chicken coop behind him...

Was in the office about this time, heard a whistling sound I hadn't heard since my Chicago days...

Hell of a storm, but we needed the rain!

We are doing just fine, although the next door neighbor is having quite the fun day with the chain saw...

Funny thing was, I had left a small plastic ash tray on top of the transom cap on the Pursuit, it never moved from it's resting spot, yet 120' away a 50' oak was taken up by it's roots.  Go figure!  Today, back to normal, time to work on a boat!

Thanks for the care, guys! :salut:

It's been dry as a bone, temps in the mid to upper 90s each day.  Typically this time of year we haven't entered the portion of summer where the prevailing afternoon winds are right to bring the daily showers to the coast.  Each evening (except for this high pressure period we've been in) I watch the thunderheads that stretch from say, south of Lakeland to around Eustis/Leesburg.  But they never come close...

And cell phones may cause cancer.

Fortunately I won't live long enough to learn either way but.....
Some members will or have children or grand kids that will and they can debunk all this propaganda.

Kinda like the way it was with asbestos, lead or that oral sex causes more throat cancer than smoking. :o

Die and learn.

Richard Pryor said the reason for all the colon cancer was not smoking but people blowing smoke up peoples' asses.

Set records here 3 straight days.99 - 101.  Supposed to last for another week.

98,98,103,99.

103 broke the earlier record of 101 set in 1927

One thing about it is while that high is stalled there will be no other weather systems entering it's coverage area.  When it does move on and leaves the hot water behind then look out.
