A ship is safe in the harbor, but that is not the purpose of a ship.
Until you get into the high seas and the wind and the hurricanes, you don’t know what your ship is made of.”...(disputed author)

Well, I'm about as salty as it gets...

Me mudder was a mermaid, me fadder was king neptune...I was born on the crest of wave and rocked in the cradle of the deep blue sea, Seaweed and barnacles are me clothes, and hemps me hair, every bone in me body's a spar, and when I spit, I spits tar..I'se hard, I is, I am, I are.  :pirat:

To leave one's home (port/harbor) and the safety/comfort/routine it provides so to experience what the outside world can offer and to face all its unknowns.
It's finding out what's inside of you by comparison to a boat. Like most Aquas, they float real well in a harbor. It's when they're in a rough sea that you discover how well they were designed (or not). Just like real people, they're not meant to stay just "at home".

I like the quote. To me, it's more like looking at a nice sports car parked in a driveway. Until you get it on the drag-strip, you don't know what it's made of.

To add to this- I've had my aqua in a rough sea (and a rough harbor), found out what it's made of, and now I just stick to lakes and rivers, and 3/4 throttle is too fast.
