Did AS make a casting platform extension as an accessory?
« on: May 05, 2011, 02:26:36 PM »
I noticed a 2" ledge at the aft end of my casting platform, and wondered if it's purpose was to accommodate an extension to the casting platform?

Since I may need to sleep on the deck tomorrow night, I rigged up something quick and easy, but would much prefer to find something that's more appropriate for a boat!

:!:  Disclaimer: :!:   I know this is super ghetto-looking.   Just a 1-night solution for $25!  If anyone can point me in the direction of the real deal, I would appreciate it!

That looks pretty cool.  I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to build a proper one.  Just lay up some glass on a plywood core and your good to go.

That's a good idea - seems to be the perfect height for a 2x  :thumleft:
You could put some 1x2 across the bottom to lock them together, maybe add one more board and cut it around the seat to lock it in and then you could cruise around with it? Don't know if the ledge goes farther aft.

Super-Ghetto?... Naw!

It looks great.

No kidding!  Reminds me of when was a kid here in NC...Dad had an old Chevy four door Bel-Air...he made up a contraption like that for the back seat, so us kids could have a "bed" on the way to Orlando's Disney World....rightg after the park opened, 1967.

Scott R,
Moved to Orlando in May, 1980, got at job a Sleaze World, AKA Sea World, while going to school at UCF...know a bit about Dismal Rat World (our name for it... )...

Most people don't know it, but back in that day, fully half their workforce was gay...and ALL the chatracters! I know we should be tolerant, but, c'mon...
