225 Gauge panels- Before & After

Cross off another "TO-DO" from my list.  Thanks to some help from Flounderpounder225, I have 2 sweet looking new items on my helm:

No more cracked corners and faded coloring.  Plus I like having the glove box door black instead of clear.  No need for people to see what's in there.  And having it match the gauge panel is even better.

Marc- thanks again bro.  The water pressure gauge doesn't seem compatible for some reason.  On the back, there is a small metal tube protruding from the gauge, and my old gauge didn't have this.  When I tried to connect the tube to the new gauge, it wouldn't fully seat onto this port, because of the tube.   But thanks anyway!

All WP gauges have a small nipple on the back side to connect the hose to.  Sticks out the back maybe 1/2".  Is this what you are talking about?

BTW, that looks AWESOME!

glad it all fit, having the same model boat and size of panels made it pretty easy to duplicate and have a reasonable degree of certainty that it would fit correctly. Pass the water pressure gauge on to someone else, if you can't or don't care to use it, I don't need it back.

I have never seen one personally, but it sounds like your old WP gauge was totally electrical with some type of sending unit in the powerhead.  Otherwise, the only way to receive water pressure at the gauge is through a physical hose attached to the "nipple" that is on every gauge I have ever seen???

I've never seen a water pressure gage without a nipple. Are you sure your not confusing it with a temp gage? Can you take a picture of the nippleless gage?

About those water pressure gauges.  Here's a pic of my OLD gauge (no nipple on the post):

And here's a picture of the NEW gauge (with a nipple, and you can see my tube also).  I wonder if I get a new fitting for the end of that tube, would this gauge work?

How big is that tube,from the pic it looks like you just need to cut that fitting off and shove it on the nipple,mine is setup that way then add a hose clamp.

Your old gauge used a compression nut, simalar to the fittings on a Bennett trim tab pump...

Welp, I just took the hacksaw to that nipple, now the tube fits right on this gauge. Maybe Wednesday I can run the motor on the earmuffs and see if it works.  

But when I ran out yesterday for the first time since disconnecting and reconnecting my gauges in the new panel, I experienced a strange beeping noise, similar to the low oil alarm, but not as loud. But no lights lit up at all, and I had plenty of oil, and no way was I overheating right away. Could I have connected some wire wrong?

Didn't affect performance at all, but it was a constant, low beep the entire day.    Anyone know if there is a water pressure alarm?

My nipple problem is fixed!

Always wanted to say that.  <!-- s:D --><!-- s:D -->  anyhow, Marc's replacement water pressure gauge works fine, once I cut off the extra, unneeded nipple.  I'm getting 5-15 psi readings on the gauge.  I guess that's normal?  First time I've had a working pressure gauge.

Now I just gotta figure out which gauge I reconnected incorrectly to give me the annoying beeping. Will investigate tomorrow on the trailer, thanks to a SCA...
