Scott, the glass work is excellent!! :thumleft:  :thumleft:

Couple suggestions on the top and console.  You're going to have an e-box, right?  Have them cut 1" holes in the aft legs, then weld short legs going to the sides of the top for wire entry.  A whole lot cleaner than just a hole out of the leg, a hole in the ebox, thean covered with spit-loom.

Second, nothing wrong with attaching the aft legs to the console, but that area has to be beefed up substantially.  The reason that earlier model 225/245 Ospreys went from that type of design to a top design where all 4 legs t/bolted to the deck was stress cracking around the aft leg mounting flanges.  Core that area at least 12" X 12" to spread the load, and no foam, it needs to resist compression.  Coosa wold be a good choice...

She's looking good!!!

Thanks SB...looks like professional riggers think alike :thumright:

You would like the boys up here. Only one way, the right way.

Ditto on your e-box suggestion...already done. They have also added second legs to the front console for additional support. Plus two additional  inline aluminum bars fore to aft for structural support/mounts, etc. And legs with drilled circular stanchions mounting to the box.

The console is an Onslow Bay 20 guide, new gen.  Taller, narrower, syn.core all around, including the electronics front. Above deck cored base (interior console floor), with toe kick below.

The console core material I'm not familiar with. Not Coosa or Nida or Divinycell. But knowing Brad Knight...if its an Onslow Bay...he goes with the cutting edge stuff.

Funding for the new Onslow Bay 32 is in place....and the latest hull mold now accepts trip 300's. From what I've seen...this is the finest 32 offshore CC ever made. Big statement. But ya'll please come and check it out.

HOLY COW!  That is really cool.  Taking a 3-D model and just cutting it out with a five axis router and you have a boat plug!  There is some serious steel in the plug!

Thanks!

First pic is the floor out of the mold. Lines shown are where the melamine joints bedded a bit. (Not joints in the core)

Large forward recessed hatch goes in front of the console.

Second pic, coring at transom end, so you can see the layup.

Last pic, starboard stringer, exit for chase.

Is the deck cap complete?  Have the hatches been made?  I can't wait to see her floating, I can't imagine how anxious you must be Scotty. Maiden voyage, best guess?

Fern, I'd say the build is about 75% complete. A month or so on the rollout, then to the rigger.

It should be ready for the engines to be gone through around the first of April, hopefully. Which is cool because the fishing up here really doesn't get going until the water temp hits 70.

That is usually by the first of May.

I'm really not anxious...just pretty excited. It's fun seeing one go from start to finish. Kind of like building your own house...where do you want this, what do you want here, what do we want to use there. So its been a real fun project
