That will be one SWEET ride when done :D , got a ?, will your floor completely cover your fuel tank but have access covers for hook ups or are you going to have a coffin cover. Reason I ask is I am replacing my tank with my floor rebuild and want to go with plastic/composite, but am having trouble with sizes of ready made tanks, either to tall or too wide to fit between my stringers and floor.I want at least 55 gallon tank, boat came with 45, like the extra cushion while out. Is there a problem enclosing a alum tank with just access holes? On a different note, like the way the sides will attach with floor, mine will be reinforced to help carry the load.

Gran told me that he will have a coffin cover for future access.

That's it T! A "chicken eater"

I'll take it fishin' some...but mostly she's gonna be a chicken eater.

There will be a tank hatch, the standard one wouldn't work because the tank is longer than stock. Wider too. If ever have any trouble, can get the tank out without having to cut the nidacore floor.

If you put in a poly tank....make sure to make allowance for expansion. Sure don't want busted stringers due to a tight tank install.

Thanks, gran, if I go plastic/composite I will have about  1 inch all sides, if alum, I will probably put coffin cover back. I have a friend who owns a welding shop and would make me a tank for pretty much cost, but I would prefer plastic if possible, will call moeller tommorrow and be siiting down when I get a quote...if I get it all done before to long you may see me down your way, inlaws live in southport and we have talked about leaving it there some this year and going down to take it out on weekends..

Daaaaammmm, shes looking sweet. I got me some questions.

1. How many gallons is that tank, looks huge
2. How do you plan on running the plumbing for the livewell?
3. What are those yellow things on the gunwales? Im guessing Floor support, but they appear higher than the stringers

Looking great, do u think she'll be ready by summer?

Gman...great ideas...let's meet in Southport!

Scott....Hope things are going well down there...Happy New Year to you and your sweet bride and the boys!

Tank is rated at 75, will hold 82.

The livewell plumbing will run inside and beside the port stringer. The rear tank bulkhead will be cut at the top to allow passage for the hoses to the stern. Inch and a half will exit the transom, hole is there but may not have shown up in the pic. Clamshell pickup, 3/4 inch in front of engines.

The builder also does aquarium work for the state...those yellow pieces are hollow fiberglass FRP girders. They are below the stringers about 1/2 inch, allowing for a "crown" in the floor down the centerline.

Hey thanks! And expect her to be rigged and ready by April. Then take her out and see if she'll eat chicken

Someone (who shall go nameless) finally decided to send me some more pics. I will let him describe them.

A few more.

I wish I still had my chopper gun.

So Scott, I have a question about this last pic. Is that spiderweb gel or a guide coat?

Are these moulds?  Is it that easy to make a mold?  Some MDF and then spray it with a release agent?

Lew, THANKS in a big way for this :thumright:

The last two pics are not my boat. It is not an Aquasport. It is that 21 Seamark we were all talking about several months ago, the Shamrock/AS clone. Looks pretty cool though, right?

That is the first one they have made in a while. It is an AC fir floor and transom, splatter coat interior, wide washboard gunnels. This boat is going to Chesapeake for commercial use.

Rick, yes, that is the floor mold and the tank hatch mold, yet to be cored. As you have described is pretty much how they are made. He used melamine to build them. You are looking at the bottoms: all of the floor hatches are recessed. We went round and round on this, it will be more $, but I'm planning on keeping her. And when it is necessary at some point to deal with the tank....it won't be with a Skilsaw.

The small boxes are the molds for the port and starboard aft boxes. Starboard side will hold the fuel filters and exit for the engine rigging.

The oval thing being held in the air is the beginning of the internal mounting base for the livewell. Thanks Eugene for this tip, we removed the external lip on the livewell base for a cleaner install.

The red non-skid is a close-up of the molds for the casting platform deck hatches. They were taken from Fitz's hatches. Thanks Fitz!

Since the tank was out...took some pics of the bulkheads, false tank floor, and cutouts for the rigging runs.

The console was taken to Gore Bros. here in town for the Sanchez Bros. top to be fitted/altered. We are going to make the top longer on the front, and get rid of the downward curve at the front. Plus beef it up and add some layout rodholders, spreader light mounts,  running light mounts, and electronics box, and drill all of the rigging holes. Then powder coat everything to match the gel.

It is coming along pretty good now. And as Matt said, when the floor goes in...things should really pick up.

Thanks guys! Lew, thank you again :!:  Ya'll come over :thumright:

WOW   That looks amazing, top quality work.  Those NC boys aren't gonna know what hit em when they see that sweet girl coming down the channel.  I can't wait to see it in person.

It looks like you added some support to the casting deck area.

Thanks for Sharing the pics
