I still plan on coming in Oct, as long as I don't have to park beside of yours,  dang she is looking good :thumright: Was down by your way this past weekend, took her out about 8 miles offshore on Friday, sea was smooth as glass, not so on Sat....but we ran her down from Bald Head to Holden Beach (Lockwood Folly) :pirat: Intercoastal was sort of crowded with everyone trying to get that last weekend..We plan on going back next week if the Mrs can take a day or 2...

Thanks! Looking forward to meeting you folks :thumright:

The area you went to...Southport, NC....that's where we're going!

Absolutely beautiful, but imagine it without the Labor Day crowd, then add fall weather....gotta like that.

Next weekend for you....tourists have gone home....noticeable difference :thumright:

It's been awfully quiet on the Ms. D front, what's the word Scotty?

What did you end up doing about the trailer?

She has slowed down at present, through no fault of the builder.

The Sanchez Brothers T-Top was modified, then powdercoated. The powdercoat job...I was not pleased with. It was decent to OK...but not great. OK isn't cutting it at this point.

So sent it to another powdercoat company here in town. They subcontract for GE's nuclear and jet engine plant here in Wilmington.

Saw the finished product yesterday. It looks like it should have to begin with. Really nice.

So next,  install the top, then non-skid the deck and casting deck, hang the engines, hang the transom boxes. Then to the rigger for the steering, batts, switches, guages, throttles, fuel, lights, electronics, etc., etc.

The rigger does Onslow Bay's 27's , he's four boats behind right now

Scotty, unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the gathering. But I do look forward to seeing Ms. D when she is finished.

Scotty, she's looking great!!!

But, a word, or few based on wisdom.  See where the aft legs of the top bolt to the console?  Make DAMN sure that area is SUPER stout, a good 3/4" thick of coring, and tie it into the adjacent face of the dash.

There was a reason Aquasport went from that type of top on the 225/245/250 Ospreys to a top where the aft legs went down to the sole.  Gel cracking around the flanges, when used as anchors.  Lots of flex there, my friend.  Keep the flanges for wire pass throughs, but the aft legs?  Down to the floor!

Thanks fish!

The livewell is the Dorado knock-off. If were to do it again, would be double wall construction, rather than single wall. The double wall allows the plumbing to bury between the walls....my pic shown of the inlet feed....with the double wall, that directional inlet could have been hidden.

No biggee tho..my livewell up here will mostly hold empty KFC boxes

The livewell shown was purchased early in the build from a firm in Tampa. They are readily available there. We cut off the outside flange that mounts to the deck, and went with a hidden, internal mounting system, per Shipoke's direction. The oval mounting flange pics are shown here on the build. On today's pics, mounted on the deck aft of the console.

The internal flange gives a clean, unobstructed, custom install.

Eugene at Shipoke offers for sale a nicer, better unit than mine....hindsight, right?

Thanks xo, thanks Bob :thumright:

The top is Sanchez Brothers. Florida top, Florida style...and looks sweet on these hulls :thumright:  Less is more IMHO.

Sanchez was never big on four on the floor...the two aft legs tie to the console, guide style.

Good news....the whole mess ties to an Onslow Bay cored console. Small....but real strong.

But...based on your comments SB...think it is wise and prudent to place quarter inch aluminum backing plates under the rear stanchion areas you've mentioned, and beneath the angled stanchions on the console top.

Thanks for the good thinking my friend, and thanks for the input :thumright:
