Maybe I should have looked you guys up  ..We drug the boat down to Southport Wed morning, and headed out Thurs  out of Dutchman Creek off Fish Factory Rd...Wind up a bit, samll craft advisory, :pale:  but me and the misses took her on out, was headed to AR307, just to get her out in the water and do a little navigating... but mother nature had better plans, got about 1 to 1 1/2 miles out around the corner of Oak Island by Bald Head Island and the sea started picking up :P , about the third time we almost dipped the bow into a wave   we turned her back and rode the seas back to the main channel at Bald head and found a nice spot behind the island to anchor out in the wind for a few hours  ....Went back out Friday and the seas were a little bit worse so we just found a good spot to relax and bob in the waves and wind till late afternoon..Going back the last 2 weekends in August, hopefully better luck with getting out farther...looks like we may make it in October... if so we will be there that weekend and then head up to Emerald Isle  for the rest of the week...

Your boat is really looking great, bet you are chomping at the bit to get her in your hands.... she is going to be a great ride! :thumleft:

Sorry ya'll had to deal with the wind. The way the west side of the Cape lies down there...it is great in the fall, nasty in the summer.

Always in a lee in a north/northeast fall wind.

Summertime is heck to pay with the southwest 15-20 blowing straight on the beach. Has a good fetch too, unencumbered from Myrtle Beach.

Looking forward to our Octoberfest reunion.

Your boat will be one of four new rebuilds there. The others we hope will attend are thermal's, gwhitley's, and mine. Plus John and JD's CCP's, Lewis's sweet 22-2, Jesse's 19-6, SC170's 22-2, Jon (Rhojo's) Family Fisherman, and more. Plus....our Florida brothers are coming.

Icing on the cake :thumright:

We'll have a blast. And I promise you... we eat like kings

Scott, mine still looks like Jed Clampett's. I'm just a little envious. Looking good, know you are proud of her. :salut:

Not yet. Rubrail goes on tomorrow.

With respect to your thinking Fern I will get the boys to put some black electrical tape on where the insert goes and we'll put it to the "Pepsi Challenge" :thumright:
