Yep, up in the corners it will. That is the original exterior fiberglass skin. Only change is the transom height was raised to 26 inches.

Now I see the question....THAT lip (at the corners) instead of the lip extending across the transom top. I was answering per the latter lip, latent lip, loose lips sink ships, damn I'm getting old

No, I was talking about the lip extending across the transom top.  It  looks like the transom ends prematurely from what were use to seeing.  Shouldn't it extend all the way across and even up the sides(at the corners)?

Looking at it more...you're absolutely right. To perfectly match the original the glassed core should have extended into the area you have shown in red.

I'll ask him about it. Maybe he did it like that to save material/weight. That is cool by me since there will be 750 pounds of engines back there. It looks the same as original from the outside stern view, but not from the inside view.

I'm not concerned about lack of strength. The transom is a brick house

That's the only reason I questioned it.    now we can move on

I saw that lip too and I was wondering if there was some sort of a structural member that went across the cap that sits in there or he was planning to lay that area up with glass

Yep...It's not a duplicate of the original at present, for sure.

It may be a Carolina thing, I've seen Privateers, C-Hawks etc. done that way (exterior transom lip).

Either way...good eyes guys, good observation. I knew something was different, not necessarily wrong, just different, but I guess to the extent it wasn't unpleasant to look at, it didn't really "click".

So thanks. I'll give a holler tomorrow and discuss it, see how it is supposed to finish out, and report back.

Ya'll can't see it...but the lip is solid glass, 3/8th's easy.

Maybe that's where the piece of PT pine I saw in another pic is supposed to go. :o

Or where he's going to screw on one of those big plates that go across the back like you see on old, old hulls.
You know, for that retro look.

Yep, he's heading this way for a free lunch. :D

Wasn't worried about the local sheilas but I've asked the resident rancher to move his moo cows into the back pasture.

I'm not takin' any chances, cause he's the jealous type.

The cows are probably safe.

It's the sheep I'd be worried about.

Parker does that lip too. My guess is its easier to do that than wrap the top of it. Inside skin meets outside skin for solid glass there. And no stupid looking aluminum trim piece!
