Yeah I figured you didn't like the black that much but you do need some sort of a line to break up all the white you have going on there. At least and insert or something. You want people to know you have something special there.Of course we all know YOUR "special"!

Quote from: "gran398"Thanks to all Fern, you tickle me about that rubrail... love your passion So...my off-white semi-rigid with a stainless steel insert.... or your all-black. How about as a cool compromise we dig up an "army man green" insert to put in there...... "keeping her classic" 8) Or even more fun...let the boys chime in and vote Scotty, as I stated to you privately the rubrail you have is a nice rubrail no questions about it. I have done enough boats & rubrails to know that the right one makes a big difference. You have gone the extra mile with your rebuild and it's an outstanding job thru and thru. Here's my 2 cents: Your hull is white; your deck cap is white; hell your T-top is even powder coated white. The beauty of the classic Aquasports are the lines of the boat. In this instance as it pertains to Miss D, a rubrail of any color, except white, will accentuate the lines of the boat. IMO a black rubrail will look great on your boat, especially with that set of Mercs haning on the transom. Now let's talk about that insert. The purpose of the rubrail is to protect the boat from dings. No matter how careful we are with our boats dings happen, after all that's why the rubrail was created. Scotty, you know as well as I do the first time you put a ding in that pretty metal insert you are going to be bummed. Metal inserts are not practical. When she's ready to have the rubrail installed mock the white one up on one side, then borrow a black one from the builder and mock it up on the opposite side and let the boys in the shop vote. I bet the black wins the majority vote. Ultimately the decision is yours but based on my experiences white is not the best choice for Miss D.

Black rail, rope insert. Love rope inserts...
Gran, been watching the input about your rubrail, going to throw my 1 1/2 cents in here: Boats are sort of like women, their beauty is in the eyes of the beholder(or in a boats case, the owner) The lines on yours will look great no matter which rubrail you use 8) ...everyone will look and see things in a different way...The way I look at it is, the man footing the bills calls the shots.... :) Can't wait to see it when finished.
