Thanks to all :D

Fern, you tickle me about that rubrail... love your passion :thumright:

So...my off-white semi-rigid with a stainless steel insert.... or your all-black.  How about as a cool compromise we dig up an "army man green" insert to put in there...... "keeping her classic" 8)

Or even more fun...let the boys chime in and vote

Looking good, Scotty!  The gel looks fine, and the raised lip around the deck, which I'm sure took it's share of dings and whatnot, looks excellent!

All in good time.  New boats means big money to your small outfit, just the way it works...

Since you inquired about the Adeptus 22-2 316 stainless badge....here it is, correct size and width per factory spec.

This is the first AS badge of original dimension that they have produced:

They have it on file, under my name. Anyone so inclined, feel free to give them a call, and reference your membership here.

I'm with you Scott...white with polished stainless insert...you could always add a Army green pinstripe in the center of  stainless insert. :thumright:

Scotty, as I stated to you privately the rubrail you have is a nice rubrail no questions about it.

I have done enough boats & rubrails to know that the right one makes a big difference. You have gone the extra mile with your rebuild and it's an outstanding job thru and thru.  :thumleft:

Here's my 2 cents:  Your hull is white; your deck cap is white; hell your T-top is even powder coated white. The beauty of the classic Aquasports are the lines of the boat. In this instance as it pertains to Miss D, a rubrail of any color, except white, will accentuate the lines of the boat. IMO a black rubrail will look great on your boat, especially with that set of Mercs haning on the transom.
Now let's talk about that insert. The purpose of the rubrail is to protect the boat from dings. No matter how careful we are with our boats dings happen, after all that's why the rubrail was created.  Scotty, you know as well as I do the first time you put a ding in that pretty metal insert you are going to be bummed.  Metal inserts are not practical.

When she's ready to have the rubrail installed mock the white one up on one side, then borrow a black one from the builder and mock it up on the opposite side and let the boys in the shop vote.  I bet the black wins the majority vote.

Ultimately the decision is yours but based on my experiences white is not the best choice for Miss D.

im with fernando, i think a black rubrail would look good on the boat, but i personally would go with black with stainless insert like this Aeon 23 at my work:

Yup Fernando is spot on with the idea of the black. You have to have some contrast and a black rubrail would be SWEET.  As for the insert.  The stainless is good only if you go with the solid type and not the less expensive crescent shape.  The crescent type can be dented.

My vote is for a Black rub rail no matter what.  As for the insert you could go with off white rope(for a more classic look) or stainless to match those fancy badges. :afro:

The rubrail itself is already here, it is a cream white. The insert could be black, to set off the lines like you guys suggest...........

As I stated in my last post,

....."You have gone the extra mile with your rebuild and it's an outstanding job thru and thru"

Don't make an error and drop the ball in the bottom of the tenth inning with two outs, ala Bill Buckner. Go with the black rubrail.  Exchange it, return it, eat it if you have to.

Black with what ever insert you prefer, me I'd go Black in Black or the rope insert.

I'd also paint those emblems with some black in some way, maybe just the top portion. That would look awesome against the white hull IMO.

Is the T-top a hard top or sunbrella?  If sunbrella guess what color you should go with, you guessed it Black! :salut:
