Alright everyone.
Please go back and re-read my post. I want this to come to a simple ending. :|

This Forum has always held to the idea that we deliver information not criticism. This thread has been different than most and at this stage of the rebuild there are some frayed nerves.

That stated, keep it within Forum rules.

Just got done caulking the console door, batt switch box, footrest trim ring, and electronics box frame, before the rains come.  Used GE Almond Silicone, looks excellent.

She really came out pretty, if I do say so myself.  And, yes, I just broke my arm...

The end product is beautiful! :thumleft:

Should bring years of enjoyment to Scotty.

Bob, broken arm?  I hope it is not serious and that you get the medical attention you need.

LOL I think he ment he did it patting his back Fernando...  The end result is a top notch boat that everyone should be proud of.   Hindsight is 20/20 as they say so in retrospect some things could have been done a little differently here and there but if you ask me everyone involved did and amazing job building an amazing boat!  :thumright:

One thing that I thought was pretty cool, from Shakespeare, first time I've seen it.  Galaxy antennas come from the factory with the cable routed out the side of the base through a grommet.  A lot of people, myself included, pull the cable out of that hole and route it down through the open bottom of the antenna base and through the mounting base.  That left you with a grommet to put back in the hole with nothing going through it.  Now, in the little parts back that comes with the antenna, they include a black plug that fills that same hole.  Excellent idea, and really completes the clean installation!

Paul, you let me know how you fix your's, and let ME know!!  This upcoming weekend...

So backlighting seems simple, but it's not.  What kind of lights?  How will they mount?  How will they secure?  So I came up with this setup.  PVC L-channel attached to the top sides of the switches with 3M 2-sided foam tape (got the good stuff, can hang 5 lbs. with it), then 2 strips of blue LEDS attached to the L-channel with the same foam tape.  Can pick up the entire switch panel by the channel, shake it, and it doesn't budge...

And the effect I want...

Think Scott will like it, and it also allows easy transferring to his new panel when he gets that fabbed.

Nice to have a "punch list", and nice to see it pared down...

Bob,

Everything looks great don't break the other arm now you won't get any more work done. lol.

What brand and model of led lights did you use for the switch panel and under gunnel lights?

Miss D is ready to go home, Scott.  Maggie has chemo in the morn, so won't be home 'til around 12.  1 PM would be good.

And, of course, don't forget the proper fundage...

FOTB,
The lights are basically generic, as I have found that they all come from China, they all pretty much use the same LEDs, they all use the same 3M adhesive that doesn't stick worth a crap...

What I do is first test them for about 48 hours continuous on.  I've found that if there are no LED failures in that period, they are pretty much good to go.  Very rarely have I had an LED fail right out of the box, and on rare occasions will have a failure within that 48 hours.  There are some types that are heavier in weight, those I epoxy up to the surface they're going to mount to.  The lighter ones, I use 3M 77 spray adhesive on both surfaces, cleaning the substrate with acetone before I apply the lights.  Works pretty good... :thumleft:

We shall do our damndest to be home by then...I try not to hurry things on chemo morning, but since you have already determined that 12 it is going to be, if we're a bit late, then it is what it is...
