As promised, binnacle done and engines running...HAPPILLY!  Fortunately, I've been around the block a time or 2 on these old Morse controls (may say Teleflex on the side, but we know better... ), so getting the adjustments was no big deal.  Farley's main concern was engagement of reverse, and, as you can see from the vid, that is no prob...

Neutral safetys work as they should, kill switches likewise...all is good in motor land!! :thumleft:  :thumleft:  :thumleft:

Nice Bob!
Did you order the oil tank vent caps? I didn't see them on the oil tanks. I'm not sure why someone would remove them to begin with but we'll need them to keep the oil from running out of the tank when Scotty fills the oil tanks up and tilts the engines. Also, I'm thinking of running the main tank initial fill (10-20 gallons) on pre-mix then marking the oil tanks and making sure these engines have oil pumps that are working correctly. Plus a little 24-1 wont hurt them at all after they've been sitting for several years and only just recently been idled.

Yep Farley, new vents AND duckbill valves in place!  Have to admit, I've never seen duckbills that small...

Kinda interesting, the nuts for the cable ends, they wanted like a $1 a piece on line, I got a pack of (4), SS, at Lowes for $.68...

Good idea on premixing the fuel to make sure the motors are happy!

The road ain't quite done here.  Noticed yesterday when I ran the motors, registered no WP on the starboard motor.  OK, WTF.  Check for any kinks, collapsed hose, the usual culprits.  Even went so far as to pull the starboard WP hose all the way out of the rigging tube.  Grrr, now I have to run it back to the helm.

So pull the hoses off each motor, run them...again.  Starboard motor?  Water shoots out the WP fitting about 5' before it hits the ground.  Port motor?  Almost twice that!!!  Port motor showing around 5 PSI at idle (800 RPM), starboard doesn't show anything at same idle speed until I bump the throttle up to about 1800, then I get around 2.5 PSI.

Clogged cooling passages?  Water pump impeller?  And, yes, I removed both fittings to make sure no goop was in there...

Both pissers look to be of equal value, pressure wise, but they feed from the bottom of the head, if I'm not mistaken...

And the reason I came in to look at early build pics was twofold.  One, to see where I can cut a hole in the floor inside the starboard aft box to access the rigging tube.  But secondly, and I believe I have found it, is to determine why there are large "score" marks on some of the rigging, i.e. batt cables, engine harnesses, etc.  Not bad...but, at the same tome, where are these marks coming from?  Look at the pic from your builder...

That is a knife edge just waiting to do it's dirty work.  And I seriously doubt they put any finishing touches on it.  We'll find out... :x  :x  :x

The problem with that pic is that the rigging chase on on the inboard stringer, the pass through is all the way outboard...so, as soon as the rigging exits the chase, it makes a sharp turn to head outboard, and cuts right across that glass edge...

Question for Scott and Miss D for the Splash this week.  Do you have any safety gear? Life vests, throwable PFD, flares,   Dock lines?  Anchor? Bumpers? Boat hook etc?  Just food for thought!
