Well here Goes nothing.
Bob
Right or wrong..it don't matter. You did what you thought was right with the placement of the rigging with what you had to work with. Looking at Scott boat with the side boxes and having twins you don't have a lot of room to work with.
About not keeping Scott in the loop,as a professional I have made that same mistake a few times and it usually came back and bites me in the ars.
No matter how right I think I am and how wrong I think my customer is......sometimes the customer is right, sometimes not... I have learned to bite my lip. I may go behind the shop after the customer leaves and cuss and swear and throw chit around for a while but I keep it to myself.
You have a paying customer who would like it done differently than the way you did it, time to bite your lip, do it the way the customer wants..whether that be right or wrong..... and move on.
Life too short.

Does anyone have any pictures of what the rigging would normally look like on a boat like this (with twins)?  I know the boxes may make a difference, but it may at least give us a starting point for suggestions.

As an initial suggestion, would you be able to route the cables, hoses, etc., either through one larger hole (or perhaps through two holes located one above the other) closer to the transom?  I'm not sure what that would do to the bends, especially to the starboard engine   .

I think that no matter how you slice it, there is going to be some rigging occupying those couple of feet closest to the transom....

Hello All, I have been folowing this build since the beginning, even before this boat to the very beginning. I am sure that there have been a lot of people following as I have. I will say that ALL of Bobs work has always appeared to be well thought out(as only his many years of expierence can do), his finished product always shows this. I can only hope that this project, oh so close to the finish line, gets finished in a manner where both parties involved are mutually happy. To Bobs defense, I thought he did a great job on this tricky portion. Also to Scotts defense, it is his boat. I am only going to add that, I dont fight too many fish from that area of any outboard powered boat, however, you never know where the fish is gonna take you. I just really hope that this ends as great as the last few weeks of progress has been. To both of you, I really hope for the best finish that this fine, fine craft deserves. Scott, your determination throughout ALL of it shows in the product, you spared nothing. Please don't think Bob did either. Again, I just want to see it wet, Scott deserves it

Everybody is coming up with all these suggestions and all with good intentions, but I think this should be left up to Bob and Scott. So as not to add wood on the fire so to speak.

I know this would be a little more fiberglass work, but what about a little casting deck just across that back part?  You could hide everything then?

Alex, thanks, and good thinking.

Will be keeping her open transom, nothing above. The rides you guys enjoy on the SoFla west coast down there :thumright: ...may get unusual looks up here  unless everyone has a tub of chicken to share

Glad to see you back Alex! How is your sweet new ride?

Scott, you have a couple of emails.  Also, want to know if you want to go with those Bose speakers.  The center, or lowest portion, would drop 1 5/8" below the gunnel trim.

That second email?  Didn't realize how things have added up...kinda important.  We'll see how the rigging goes tomorrow...

So, after determining that both engine's rigging and the steering hoses would fit in the rigging sleeve...

Here's what I have come up with, albeit all totally temporary pending approval...and new rigging sleeving...,

Keep in mind, no primer bulbs in the pick as that involves cutting fuel lines, and I don't think we're ready to do that yet.

This ain't gonna be easy, especially getting the holes cut in the sleeving for each break-out point.  And I STILL don't like poking holes in that pretty transom.  Had to drill 2 today (don't worry, c'sunk, no gel chipping) to secure the rigging and give it the "look" I wanted...
