Have been wondering where the stereo/VHF mount/VHF antenna order has been (ordered from Star Marine Depot, I've dealt with them many times before), checked my order status, and says they are back ordered on 1 item.  So, morons, send me the other 3!!!  It's only been 2 weeks...

West marine is just down the road.  :jocolor:

ABSOLUTELY!!  Only problem is, what I ordered...wouldn't have been in stock.  And if the 4 items were, it would have cost $350 instead of $280... :(  :(

EDIT:  Just checked my order status...the Shakespeare antenna will ship 3/4, the rest of the stuff today.  Gee, wonder if the message I left them this morn had something to do with that...

Hi Bob, looking great, really a nice job as usual.

Scott, how much longer before the big splash?

I am thinking about coming back to see it in all its glory

Hey buddy.  I have an idea about a place to splash miss D.  You might consider Anclote Key as there are a lot of options in terms of things to do and a great meeting point for your Clearwater/Tampa brethren.     The beach on Anclote Key (outer island) would make for an excellent meeting point, tons a space to anchor up , emerald green waters out front and beautiful grass flats for fishing out back.  Its also very close to the Anclote river (entrance is at Bird Key on the map) which leads into Tarpon springs and has tons of Bars/restaurants/hooters etc etc.  Plus its not too far from Bobs house.  Just a thought, hopefully other with chime in.  Let me know what you think?

Bryan,
Unfortunately, a lot of the aspects of Miss D fall into the hands of other players as, basically, she is a custom boat, and her some of her parts have to be fabbed, built, designed, in other words, not off the shelf items.  What I would like to see is end of March...last week of March.  That is pretty much my time table.  The Glacier Bay is second fiddle right now, although I will work on her when there is nothing to do on Scott's boat that will gain me headway...

A "for instance"...Scott provided a tie-bar for the motors.  But it needs, how shall we say, cleaning up.  Rust, corrosion, that sort of thing.  So it needs to go to a shop and have them do the work, as well as cleaning up the props.  Now, if they were new, hell, bolt them on in an hour and be done with it.  But there is the logistics end of things, where I have to get them to the shop, get a "promise date" on completion, get back to the shop, make sure all is right, then get them installed.  And that is just one part of the deal.

With so many players, there are a lot of variables...very fluid variables.  So, given that, it's hard to tell...to pinpoint it to a certain date.  Another good "for instance".  Eugene had a panel made for one of his boats by a guy here local.  Scott really liked the looks of the panel, figured we could get one made in a couple weeks or so.  I call him...his estimate?  7 weeks.  Now you're scrambling.  Scott found a guy up there in Wilmington who SEEMS to have the ability, but the questions he asked Scott to ask me kinda give me the little bit of uncertainty feeling.  So we'll see...

Sorta sums it up for you in regards of a date, huh?

Scott, what do you think about these switch caps?  Different style, a little more modern, plus this outfit has the dual lens we need for the nav/anc light switch...http://www.oempartsllc.com/actuatorcarl ... 1-1-1.aspx

Those switches are cool!

I agree with skoot, Anclote is a really great place to dunk her. You can run out to the island and anchor on the beach or run offshore and fish or if its blowing fish the flats inside the island. Also run up the river to some of the Greek restaurants and chow down! Anclote River park has a really nice ramp and parking area.

Well, no worries.
I will keep monitoring, I have tons of FF mileage so no big deal, I just need a few days or so.
I was going to take off the end of March to go to Hawaii. Mid April, I start a large remodel on a home here in Newport Beach.
I can move Hawaii no problem. So, I have a few week window I believe.
I was thinking a long weekend, maybe leave here Thursday, come back on Monday.
Once you guys decide a launch area, I would need to know which airport, I would need a hotel, Hilton would be good but, any will work.
It would be great to meet you guys in person.

Bryan,

That you would come for this...man...this is really appreciated. And a great honor.

Once you get here...you won't spend a dime our CA brother.

Bob, the switches you like look good to me. Order as if she were yours....damn you're getting a pretty job

Fellas, makes no matter where we launch. This is your backyard, and ya'll know the best of all worlds. So you guys chat it over...I'm a very happy participant. We can even tow her to the Bay of Valdeze because...

Right now I'm happier than a pig in chit :flower:
