LOL Scotty!!

The Doc's Pursuit in the driveway, his Talon by the shop...guess he had the monopoly on the place a couple years ago!

Miss D is in the boat shaped patch of grass next to the shop.  Notice you can even see my commuter path from the backdoor to the shop.  38 seconds to work...

Only thing that showed up tonight was the batt charger, it will wait.  But good news, found us a HC5345 cylinder in VERY GOOD shape from one of my THT buddies in Gainesville for $260...I ain't complaining!  He's holding it for me, I'll pick it up next week...

Oh no Bruce, your's was pretty tame compared to this one.  Gary, this is going to be a total re-wire, so that makes things A LOT easier...pretty much whatever is not related to the motors gets yanked out, even if I have to cut a bunch of wires to do it.  It's all gonna be new anyway, so I don't really care if I cut a positive lead, wondering, "Gee, I wonder what that went to?".  I make her a whole new harness, so I KNOW what powers what.  She's getting new gauges (twin Yams, all the round gauges are un-readable, the old Yam gauge lens issue), so all the engine harnessing will be disconnected and pulled away from that area, that will free up things greatly.  All new electronics as well, so ducers are coming out, NMEA cables, all that chit.

Now, if someone were to bring the same boat and ask me to...neaten this mess up, well, I'd have to pass!  Trying to deal with someone else's self-inflicted mess is truly a PITA!!

At least all you need to clean up that rats nest is a sharp pair of dykes!  Better than all the rat pee, poop, skeletons, fur etc in the rat boat!  I hope you can get some scrap money for all that copper!

LOL!!!  Yeah Bruce, you had some nasty chit, literally, to deal with on the rat boat!  But she looks awesome now! :salut:  :salut:

We have a little...rule around our house.  All the beer cans and the old wire goes to the recycling center, and the money we get?  Chinese food!  Seafood and vegatables (Maggie's favorite), Schezuan pork, pork fried rice, won tons, you name it.  Interestingly enough, although we boaters pay a premium for tinned, stranded copper, the recycle people want solid.  I get a third less than if I had solid copper...go figure...

Had a great visit from Farley this morn, always a pleasure.  Helped as best I could, but he really had only some minor tweaking to do while the motors ran on the muffs...

The end result was 2 very happy motors running excellently, settling into there characteristic 2-stroke shimmy at idle.

And, of course, I have a new best friend, Farley's dog Diesel, who poses great for a pic...

Between Diesel and Guiness...

A fun, and very productive morn, we talked about a LOT of chit...

Really Scott, the motors ran great!

Scotty
That's Great news about the engines
I have to agree....
You made the right move towing Miss D down to Florida to let some good ole boys finish her up.
Good job guys  :thumright:
oh by the way....I say leave her named Miss D....
Changing her name now is kinda like renaming your dog after a couple of years.
