Vintage Belushi

Derails do not exist on certain threads younger brother.

That accessory switch?

Could be for a 12V fryer...or a 12V blender...or a 12V rotisserie...or a  12V fresh water/hot water shower...or a 12V fresh water misting system....or the pump for a mood-enhancing miniature koi pond.

Or all of the above.....maybe more

Gonna go with the members' advice regarding the empty switch :thumright:

What about just putting some name on it for grins?     Something like "Panic" or "Fish On!"  or "Eject" or "Detonate" or "Bling!"  or "Call Bob"  or "911"  I had a friend that had an "Eject" button on the dash of his '69 GTO - it was pretty cool.  You would know what the switch is for, but it could be a point of conversation for others...

The switch will be labeled "Carolyn".  And what happens when you "turn on the switch"?

Don't let her read this Scott...

Yes Scott, it did...beaded up like the best McGuire's shine I've ever seen!!

So this is what I am thinking, switch panel wise...

Everything backlit in blue, including the AS logo (too lazy to cut and paste the REAL logo!).  Back lighting to come on with the Nav lghts (since you have LED lighting, virtually no draw).  What do you think?

I think it is awesome!
Who is going to make it?
Bob, I am back from HI, I will try to call you tomorrow, Sunday.

Thanks Bryan

You'll probably find me in a bilge, Bryan...

Well, you would have!  Like I said, the Palmetto pissed me off yesterday, so today?  Play with Scott's boat...particularly the bilge.  First things first, un-plumb everything to make room for the removal of the old nasty Flo-Jet washdown pump and for the install of Bryan's Shur-flo Extreme.  That was NOT fun, but it's done...

Then on to wiring the pumps, washdown, livewell, and bilge.  All the wiring runs are secured on the underside of the cockpit sole...

So when you open the hatch, this is what you see...

No sagging wires or bundles, nothing hanging down or getting in the way, just wide open bilge.  Doing this is a beetch, as it's all done on your knees, bending forward, securing with your cordless in the bilge shooting upwards...very tiring.  But, the way to do it.  And Scott, I could have killed your builder for locating the W/D pump where they did!!  But, the new one's in there and it's happy...

Finally got a bus bar in the starboard box!!  I love bus bars!!

And here's how we're doing the fuel/water separators...

Inlets and outlets on the same side.  I plan on routing the 2 outlets (the inboard one over top the outboard separator) to the liner, then aft, then back inboard to the rigging ports.  This will keep the starboard box from just being filled with fuel lines, not to mention all the rigging for the motors.  I hurt my head think about this for a while...

Normally, I wouldn't go about terminating on the bus or securing the fuel lines without all the rest of the rigging being run.  But with Scott's boat, the rigging access in the back corner is so wide open, that "getting ahead of myself" really doesn't make any difference.

And for those of you who might ask why I didn't go with the "clear bowl" type separators, well, you probably guessed...they don't fit.  Too tall.  Hell, the new W/D pump was almost too tall!

See what comes in the goody bag (also known as the big brown truck) tomorrow...

On a side note to Bryan and Nando.  Bryan, that is your pump you shipped to Scott that is now part of his boat.  And the drill template I made for it?  Came from the Bud Light case that Nando brought me last weekend!  Well done Gents!!

And another little side note.  All 3 runs (washdown, bilge, and livewell) have a "service loop" in them.  That is what you see in the pic with several butt splices.  Each run has about 8" extra length, which I simply "dog-bone" up and secure.  That way, when the pumps fail (not if, when!), cut a couple ty-wraps and there is plenty of wire to enable Scott (or another guy after he's dead!) to pull the pump, T/S it, and replace if necessary without having to splice in extra wire...
