Bob, think you can snap a couple pics of the sliding mechanism for that clear door? I imagine its some kind of hinged piece going into a track?   Definitely borrowing that idea!
Dirt, just go back a couple of pages.

Skoot, you know there is no such thing...

Rick...that was a good one!!!

Scott D, around St. Patty's day, think you can swing up for a night or 2?  Drag along Josh too, he is more than welcome!  That's the plan...you too, Skoot!

Just spent a bit of Scott's money, 4' Galaxy VHF antenna, SS ratchet mount, Fusion RA50 stereo, and a Perko 12" fold-down LED anchor light.  We're going to put a bi-colored dome light on the underside of the t-top electronics box (white/red), and a special treat in store for the horn...

Now off in search of the best price on the SS-1000 compass...and some other stuff.  You guys try to "spend" Scott's money...I GET TO!!!

Dirt:  I'll pull the box out and take pics from all sides so you can see how they did it... :thumright:

I will find a way to make it work, and seeing as Josh is my bodyguard now (he's lifting weights 6 days a week and it shows) I would have to bring him :salut:

Sorry guys, out of the loop today.  Woke up feeling chitty, went down to Tampa, got stuck by 2 freight trains for about an hour...grrrrr.  Got home and crashed.  Then go to work on the Palmetto this eve, so no playing with Miss D today...

Ordered a bunch of parts last night, including your beloved compass, Scott (!).  Now for the bad news.  My buddy at Teak Isle got back to me today with the cost of the batt switch box...$243!!!!  I don't think so!!  CNC programming and such.  Think we need to re-think this one...

Hey thanks!

Like the idea of an external box. Guys, a small box with a door was to have mounted on the side of the console, and hold two miniature battery switches and the batt charger receptacle.

Couple ideas. If we can find something similar in fiberglass, it could be re-gelled. I'll give MCL a call this morning. Or, the guy up here that makes starboard parts for Jones Bros. may have such a widget already....like a small tackle box/frame etc. :thumright:

This may be too big, but...

Also searched fire extinguisher boxes, but they were all kinda cheesy...

But did find this:

PS, hope you're feeling better

Scott,
That first box is what we are looking for, just needs to be smaller.  8" X 8" external frame dim.'s is about as big as we can go if it's gonna be "square".  Of course, we can go taller and narrower...

The fire extinguisher boxes we used at PL were like this one from Paragon (that's who made ours)...http://www.searay-parts.com/Fire-Exting ... t-s/50.htm

Scotty, just got off the phone with Frank...what a small world!  Was telling him that I had went over to Polk City last month to look at a Mako 254...Frank says, "Well that must be Jeff Donovan!"  DAMN!!!  They're like family, Jeff's a good friend of mine!  I about chit!  We had a great conversation, so here's the deal.  Talking to him while at your boat, we're going to go with 6"W X 10"H, switches stacked one above the other, charger inlet at the bottom.  Glad I was out at the boat as I didn't consider the depth of the electronics box, so we're making the back side of the batt switch box out of 1/4" starboard, saves some room.

Got my starboard samples from Teak Isle, your gel is really in between seafoam white (which Frank has) and fish white (which he doesn't, and can't get).  Seafoam will work fine.  When he gets it done, he'll deliver it to me as he wants to see your boat...

Sounds great, super job guys, thanks!

Re the starboard color....The console insert box is fish white, the port side console door  is fish white. So would like to keep all of the starboard fish white. Let me know if its completely unavailable down there, can ship some down :thumright:

Thanks!

Then ship it!  He says only the OEMs and big boys get that stuff.  Not a big piece, 8 X 12 will do it...
