Ain't been around much today, it was "meet and greet" as I like to call it.  The Scarab owner picked her up, so deal with him for a couple hours (actually a real cool guy), then, and hour later, one of my old customers brings up his "new to him" 26 Glacier Bay to be completely re-done, so there's another couple hours...and a lot of bullchitting!!!

But you guys know me and my wires...BOAT MUST HAVE WIRES!!!  Sooooo....

Built Scott's hull harness and T-top harness (need to get some speaker wire), just had to run them this eve.  Easy pull, although I'm giving quite a bit of thought as to how I'm going to get them from the aft starboard box into the bilge area in a really neat and slick way...will give it more thought tomorrow.  Several options...

The reason Scott's hull harness looks so "small" is that I ground all the aft equipment to a ground bus in the stern, then tie the ground bus aft to the ground bus forward with a 10GA wire.  Lot's of builders won't spring for the aft ground bus (a whopping $15), so all the aft grounds run forward, and you end up with this big arse harness and a TON of grounds at the helm.  My method makes for a cleaner install, a CHEAPER install, as well as the fact that you have a handy dandy ground available to you right there when you need to do some trouble-shooting...

Like I told you Scott, Fernando's coming over in the morn, so boat will get a THOROUGH going over by one who's been down this road before.  Looking forward to seeing my buddy, looking forward to my World Series beer winnings (   ), see if we can get his truck stereo squared away...

I've always thought this angle of view was the most flattering for Aquasports.  Scott, your boat is absolutely gorgeous   , truly a flagship of the forum.  The wait was well worth it, I know you have to be proud.  How exciting for you.

Good to see you Jessie!

Scott, went through that BIG box of stuff from Miss Marco this eve...those engine harnesses and key switch panels?  The harnesses from the panels back are fine.  Those key switches?  Think I need to start looking for new ones...

Interesting we had talked about choke switches.  The key switches on those panels?  They have the "push to choke" feature...

Bob, thanks for going through that big box of mess tonight.

Guys...here's a perfect example of what we were discussing earlier.

just noticed something... where's the bow, v-bunks/guide? i see a bare cross member sitting right there?

Aaron,

I noticed that too. I just got caught up in the engine project and forgot to mention it to Scott. It is going to need a V bunk fabbed in order to prevent some major rash when loading or unloading. So we need to add that to the project list. I'm surprised it didn't have one.

Scruffy bastard!

Fernando came on over today, we messed around with his truck for probably TOO long, only to no avail.  Unfortunately, either he has a channel that has gone south either in the head unit or the amp.  Oddly enough, I tried to run the front and left forward speakers off the 1 good channel, but when I spliced them together, neither forward speaker would work (driver's side being the "bad" channel).  Take the passenger side speaker back out of the mix, driver's side worked fine.  Hmmmm...

Anyway Scott, Nando went over your boat thoroughly, and I mean THOROUGHLY!  He was very impressed, and on more than one occasion said what a beautiful boat she is!  Of course, you know Nando, he had his critiques (hey, we all have differences, you know?), but all in all, well, I caught him going over her a lot!  She's a beaut!!

And a special thanks to Nando for helping ME out!  Yesterday my customer brings over his 26 Glacier Bay for a re-wire.  He doesn't exactly follow my instructions as to how to drive around the yard to get her in front of the shop...needless to say, he gets his 3/4 ton 2WD Suburban stuck to where we can get the boat off and the truck out...but the boat ain't going nowhere, right in the middle of the yard.  So Nando, in his '07 1/2 ton GMC 4WD snatches her, drives around a couple times, and puts it exactly where I want her!!

Thank you bud!!! :salut:  :salut:  :salut:

And, yes, we did have a few Bud's this afternoon... :thumright:  :thumright:  :thumright:

Glad you guys had a good day :salut:

Everyone has their own opinions, makes for a better world. The fun thing about building a boat is you have the chance to make decisions along the way, hopefully for personal ease of use. For sure maintenance concerns came into play on this one...I'm not getting any younger.

Also opted for zero nonskid on the gunnels and bowcap. This added right much expense...non-skid makes minor finish issues disappear. But to me these lines are the most beautiful part of a 22-2. All of these decisions were the result of thought and input from experienced folks in whom I have confidence.

Here's a cool pic from last weekend's adventure
