Uh-oh, I think I'm in trouble...

As most of you know, I've been on THT for quite some time now (actually about 6 years, as I was banned for quite some time...OMG), and feel quite comfortable over there.  Yes, it is a bit hostile at times, not for everyone.  But, and I say this with all sincerity, it is the most comprehensive boating site in the world, and can offer a wealth of information, if one can just get past the feeble banterings of certain members.  A guy rebuilt a boat once and now he knows more than those who build boats for a living.  A guy installed an AC unit once, had problems, and now all AC units suck...and on, and on, and on.

But I know, when I need an answer to a question fast, and with confidence, that's where I go.  There are an incredible amount of very intelligent people on there that are extremely knowledgeable in the marine business, and I tap into their knowledge quite often.  That being said, one must take the good with the bad.  It is what it is...

But the first place I come to, be it the morning or the afternoon, is right here.  This is a family, and I am blessed to be part of it.  Don't take THT too seriously, and enjoy what you, and I, have here on CAS... :thumleft:  :thumleft:  :thumleft:

feeling2damgood,
I can't agree with you more.  I have a few friends who are self proclaimed experts on another unnamed forum.  Not a one of them has any mechanical or electrical experience with boats; just a little fishing knowledge. They find it necessary to bash businesses of which they've never had any dealings or name a certain product as the best and only one to use just because they've heard a buddy used it. I've gotta be fair though, sometimes they post useful info.
So needless to say, I'm happy to be here.
My thanks goes out to the creator/creators and members of this site for making it a useful tool.
Jim

To be fair, that happens everywhere (none of us here are innocent).

But I know, when I need an answer to a question fast, and with confidence, that's where I go.

That's more or less what I use THT for.  If I have a technical, non-AS related question, I go to THT for the answers.  There is a broad wealth of knowledge on that site, but because of the high number of active members there, the anonymity of the internet plays a huge factor in the overall mood of that forum.  Unlike this forum, where many of us have met face to face, and more of us are on a 1st name basis, you have more ability to hide behind a username and act in a way that you never would in any other situation.

People are mostly good, but because there's so many people on other forums just waiting to bash someone, the good folks are always on the defensive, just waiting to be attacked- and it shows in their posts.

The moderators play a big role in this site too- for better or for worse, this site is a tight ship and it's ran like one too.  Thanks Guys.

I've only banned one person in 5 years...
I could try though but there is no guarantee that I could unban you, since I've never tried that...

And the date is in May?  Well, let's see, I have a few little girls at the house right now...

And of course, the big girl in the driveway...

It may be tough to get away...

And since I seriously doubt I will piss off Rick, CB, Lewis, Scott, Scott #2, Jesse, Scott #3, and, you, I live in no fear of being banned...

But I will offer a beer to make things right!
