1974 19-6 Rebuild

Filled in transom and installed a 6" bob's setback along with a 6" bob's jack plate. Reinforced gunwales, front hatches, and parts of the deck. Rebuilt console. Installed larger bilge access and deck hatch fwd of console. New under gunwale rod holders and gunwale rod holders. 40 or so gallon livewell/leaning post. Under gunwale led's and a led in the bottom of the livewell. New Best Fabrication 50 gallon fuel tank. Put a 96 150 johnson ocean runner on the back. The 17 pitch prop gets up SUPER fast and tops out at 46mph with 3 ppl, full livewell, and 25 gallons of fuel.  I installed the retrofit lencos using the bennetts it came with.

Man that's smokin'. The foredeck/casting platform is awesome. The cockpit sole color is spot-on. And the windshield.... :thumright:  :thumright:

When I was in China a few years ago I bought some really cheap waterproof LED strips.  Look at em go.

Very nice job! Man I love these old boats. Lights are very sharp were they easy to install?

That would have driven me nuts having that boat finished and no motor! I like the shear of the transom, not to bowed up but still like the original on an I/O hull. How well do the rodholders support the gunwales? I am still in the planning stage on mine and was wondering if they flex or not. Did you recore them? (the gunwales)

Edit  Oh yeah http://www.updplastics.com can make you a new windshield.

I installed the LED's using the little plastic mounting brackets they came with and some 4200.  I ran my wiring under the gunwales through small pieces of PVC that I glassed in just for that reason and I guess for whatever else I may need to run under there. You can see above the rod holder is one of the PVC pieces.

Edit  Oh yeah http://www.updplastics.com can make you a new windshield.
When I got the boat I could have about fallen trough the gunwales.  After taking them off I sanded them down and glassed in some core for structural support.  Now I can walk around them no problem.  As for the rod holder giving support; they do not.  They're just drilled into the side wall under the gunwale. They do support my rods though.  You'll see them in the above pic.  

O yeah, about the windshield...what are you tryin to say???......just messin around.  
It'll work for now.  I'll probably wait until someone breaks it before getting another one.

Sweet ride!  Very nice rebuild.  I kind of like the steering wheel.  Where in Lakeland are you?  I am down on the southside.

I live behind play it agian next to Southgate.  Come on over and check it out someday.  We'll take it out for a spin in Lake Hollingsworth.  I just got back from Lake H.  I had to test out this steering wheel and a 19 pitch Aluminum prop that I picked up in Jacksonville this weekend for $30.  Prop is trash and I'll stick with my 17 pitch stainless for now.  19'll be my spare.  Do you still have your 17?  I'd like to see it if so.
Here I am on Lake H today...you may notice the orange bouy in the right corner still on the lake from the Orange Cup Regatta.

Sounds like a good time to me.  Maybe once the time changes, we could go out one evening.  I am located off Shepard Rd.
I still have my 17.  Won't be getting rid of it for a while.  I just bought a powertech RXB4 on ebay for $39 that needs a hub!   I heard about the regatta a little late.  I would have loved to go.  How fast can you make it around the buoys?  
What size hub do you have on your engine.  I have a few spare props laying around that fit a 4 1/4" hub.
