as soon as i get her back i will put pictures up, didnt think to do before and after, we already have been busy restaining, adding electronics, etc etc..... also wondering if anybody knows what brand liner is the best, rhino, line-x,etc...  The boat doesnt have the tower it shows in some of the old fliers of the boat, not sure if that would be worth having built...

I`m a line X fan for the pick ups and the Coast Guard and the US government uses the spray on liner in their boats. Except you are going to need the Lima Bean Green to keep her original. I really thought about a spray liner but always worried about keeping it clean and not fading over time. you have a cool rare boat; do you have the forward cuddy cabin?

yes it has the forward cuddy cabin, carpeted, doors open inward, i was thinking about lining it baby blue, but if they could match that color for a resonable price lima bean green it is!  the boat is powered with a 225 johnson 1994, it went about 45 mph with a few of us in her, the stern configuration is a bit unergonomic, im considering having that completely redone as well...

Look in the photo gallery for your boat. I think there is a 71'-72' and a early 80's advertisment, that will show the tower you are looking for. That was a smokin hot boat behind the 22-2 of course! Does yours also have the stepped inward transom also? What do you mean by poor ergonomics at the transom?

To me the 240 was one of the hottest Aquasports ever made. Would make a beautiful dual settee Palm Beach day boat. Or terrific dive boat. Or a great fried chicken family boat!

Put one of those gussied up half-posts behind the helm....oh my

Fitz and I were talking, we're impressed with the new leaning post pictured on the board recently. Like the design, particularly the rod holders set low, below chest/face height for rear passengers. They are available in half-post models too.

I'm talented at spending the money of others....

Welcome aboard....you have a great boat!

thank you all,
about the transom, it has been redon once and raised, it now has a long shaft engine, but in from of the engine there is a center livewell and two large hatchs with small openings that house the batteries... the problem is that the area slants backward and is so low that it is hard to get bait out of the livewell, it is also not an oval or circular livewell, i want to cut the top off this area and hasve it raised up,so it would form a bench or casting platform in the back with an oval livewell and both batteries on one side, makeing additional storage, then throw a jack plate on it to set it back 5 inches or so i need , and reinforce the stern with a new transom.... i think pictures will help explain the area im talking about.  hopefully just a couple more days...

Well it wasn't completely closed so I'll take it was raised 5".

All of the that is factory. Sounds like you're looking for a transom somewhat similar to what Gran linked to. I'd prefer a full bracket to the plate but that's just me.

Good luck.

about how much do you think it would cost to redo the transom and have a full bracket platform added?

Are you looking at doing the work yourself? or having it done?
I have 240 that I am working on(slowly) that had the liner and side console removed...it had a center console in it when I bought it. I am going to rebuild it back as the original side console. Mine is already a full transom, was an I/O originally, but I am going to get a porta bracket for it.
WHere are you located?
