Looks like Groveland took the worst hit based on news reports up here. The good thing is we've had 2 3/4" of rain here in the last week due to two storm systems per my rain gage. The long range models are showing a persistant southern jet stream parked over us out into April with the low pressure systems traversing across the gulf and migrating through the big bend which should give us the rain we need badly here in NE florida. I`ll take the thunderstorms and tornado potential over drought and fires anyday. I've been through the 85` and 98` firestorms here and it was bad; keeps the pyrofreaks at bay as long as it`s wet.
I got to use the weather station my wife got me fro christmas to good use last night,i got 1.94" of rain, but the funny part was the wind never got over 20 and the barometer was actually rising during the storm, but 5 miles up the road,Clark rd and 75 they had a confirmed tornado.
Not here. The wind was probably close to tropical storm force here just before dark yesterday. I'll try to remember to take a picture tomorrow. A really tall palm on one side of my yard had tons of dead fronds hanging that I did not want to pay someone with a bucket truck to cut off. Now they are all in the yard of the abandoned house next door. Not only do I now not have to pay but they are in a yard that the bank will not even pay to mow unless we call code enforcement.
