Jim:
Good book.....
The pump I´m using for the livewell is a Rule 201STC (500gph) livewell pump. Pretty straightforward installation. Just drill a hole, add some good caulk and install. It´s wired with an inline fuse and a switch to turn on/off on demand. No automatic operation.
Now, for a bilge pump, I have a Rule 1500gph pump with a Rule-A-Matic float switch. I don´t know if your hull has a enough bilge space to install a larger pump. In my opinion, go as large as you can on bilge pumps, as they tend to have a large loss when you put the thru hull on the higher position you can on the side of the boat. (500gph can end up being close to 400gph)
I´m even thinking about adding a second pump, as backup. With the space on my bilge, this one will probably be a 500 or 750gph pump.
I don´t like those automatic pumps, which sense for water every so-many seconds. I´ve been told that they can drain a battery very quickly.

Miguel, how long were the cables that you attached you r battery to from the motor so they would reach all the way to the console? I will be relocating my battery under the console this spring as well. Do you all really think a rebuild is in order. IMHO, I think it's fine right now since it doesn't look to be holding a lot of the motor's weight. My father had 19-6 Aquasport with a 115 Evinrude that also had a similar stress crack in the same area and he used it for a lot of years without a problem. Please, if I'm missing something or if I'm being just dumb, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Mr. O:
I really don´t know the length, as they were there when I bought the boat.
I guess you should start with at least 15 feet of ea. and trim afterwards....... You could use the steering cable length as a reference. Be sure to use a good marine grade cable tough. It´s $$$, but worth it on the long run.
About the transom, it is hard to know just by looking at pics. If I were U, I would really be taking a good look for other damage besides what´s apparent. I would think with such a large crack you´d have a lot of water intrusion on your transom. If you fell confident there´s nothing else, go ahead.......(just don´t make us say "I told U so").

When your motor is in the travel lock position press down on the lower unit, do you see the transom flexing? Normally you shouldn't see any. We're thinking that something like this is happening, otherwise why would the crack be there? Just looking out for ya. Hate to see your motor/transom fall off while you, and possibly your family, are in it.

Mr. O,
Where are you at in MA? I am in Plymouth, if you want a second set of eyes and my 2 cents I can shoot on over. Just let me know.

Hey Mr. O.:
Is that a trim tab switch I see in your console? If you have trim tabs installed, would you mind posting a picture of your installation?, particularly if you had to modify the "transom mounted platform/ladder thingy" (I don´t remember the name of it in english).......

To start off I want all of you to know that I do appreciate all of your concern since the major priority is yes, safety. To test the transom I would have tilted the motor up and pressed down but right now the battery is out and and there's no electricity. There also is not enough room in hte back of the garage to tilt the motor up so right now it's not possible to test but will definetly test when it comes out of the garage. The transom mounted step thing is called a step ladder up here in NE and no it wasn't modified since there's no trim tabs. There is a control panel in/on the console but there is no evidence on the hull that there were trim tabs. I have no clue why there there.
