smitty, looks like you guys got it goin' on!

Glad that little boy of yours is on our team.  :thumright:

The sauce can be used as a baste for chicken too...but on beef brisket, think it might be too tangy/peppery (overwhelming)...Try it on oink or cluck and see what you think.

SB, you can take John's sauce and add ketchup, you get WNC sauce. Add 2/3 mustard, 1/3 ketchup, you get Sandlapper Sauce. (SC sauce)

I'm makin' myself hongry

You were makin' me hungry too.  I fixed that by going to J Alexanders and having a nice slice of prime rib.  Probably in the top 5 of the best I have ever had.  Heather the waitress made it the number 1 prime rib I have ever had.  ;)

Here's one of my favorite BBQ places in this area, but not the same as Monk's in Lexington or Wilbur's in Goldsboro:

Reading their history, sounds like a long tradition - so I assume it's a good place to eat?
I'll have to try it sometime.

Their wings sound yummy - not fried, smoked instead.  We are the home of Hooters but I can only eat a few of their wings before I'm greased out.

Guys, those places would go over great around here. We don't have any kind of rib place, much less a good one...Am jealous.

The rub have been using was "Hawg Rub"....but when looked at it on the net, the label was different, thought maybe they changed it. Then on the way home went by the sauce place....and here's what have been using....the local redneck product...."Grendaddy Dave's" Hawg Rub.

Man, how can't ya be hungry after reading all these posts, Good stuff!
If anybody's in my neck of woods, I highly recommend The Angry Pepper.  It a small Back yard kinda bbq joint with some great Q, tons of different beers and some unique sides, like fried green tomatoes.

You need to come up to Palmetto and have some Chihuahua Wings at Alvarez's.  Fried but not greasy.

Smitty's on Manatee ave in Bradenton has the best wings go for the BBQ/WOW mix but get them extra crispy.  You'll never want wings anywhere else

...and if they're in the neighborhood, I would expect they would stop by!

I've made some of my own WNC sauces off the internet, damn good!  To each his own!  I made the vinegar sauce (ENC) for the guys at work when I brought in pulled pork, one of test drivers (one of the best guides in Crystal River) absolutely loved it!  Me?  I probably...well, I better not say...
