Ouch! $700?

Oh well. A least I should be able to get it back when/if I sell her.

Thanks for the clarification. I read that a few times. Perhaps it was the excitement of possibly meeting the original owner. That would have been cool.

Thanks again!

I will second Phil with Alloy.  He did a tank for my 170 and one for my 200 CCP.  Great price and tank arrived perfect to the specs that I sent him.

Are you suggesting a mini group buy? I'm in for any deal, but it has to be a deal!

I think I would prefer a plastic roto-mold tank to aluminum.

I'm glad John dug up Phil's #. He gave it to me a while back....Phil's quote was quite a bit less than FM. (His was $600.00 for 55 gallons).

I just need to determine the capacity, not there yet....so guess the word "shopping" was used out of context. Definitely will order from Alloy when arrive at the correct dimensions.

The problem with the plastic ones is they "breathe". Capt Bob had a link on here a while back about this issue, maybe he can find it.

Yes they do.
Not a problem on a CC but may lead to a situation of unpleasant odor in an enclosed cabin. I was ready to pull the trigger on a Moeller tank. They (Moeller) were very nice to deal with and sent me all the spec sheets on the tank I intended to purchase. By the engineer's own admittance (plus disclaimers on the spec sheet) vapor permeation can happen. It's the natural order of poly and fuel.
Proper installation results in a reduction of the vapor accumulation in the tank mounting area. Many members here have later model Aquas with poly tanks  (and cuddy cabins) and report no fuel smell. I still believe in the poly tank but not in my ability to properly vent the vapors that will occur. I did not want to give anyone on my WAC additional excuses for not wanting to use the cabin.

Note pg#5 of 6 of this Moeller .pdf

Good luck.

Hey Bob, what was the price difference between tanks?

I wont have a problem with odor. I already smell funny. And the fumes may cut down the beer intake.

Seriously, just looking for the least expensive option that is still to code.

At a thousand bucks I'd rather buy the equipment to build myself. Sure that would be more but then I could fab up anything i wish.
