Thanks Rickk, was hard to pass up for $1000 ,has better bones than my 19-6   Would have spent twice that just getting a bracket built. At least I have all year to get this one ready.

New member here.  Picked up my '81 22-2 Family Fisherman 2 years ago.  I needed something to get the family out in when we go to the shore, and this old tub was perfect.  That hard top is wonderful. The cuddy cabin also I like also more than I thought I would.  In a week or so I will tear out the birds nest that is the electrical system and do a complete re-wire.  And fix up some of the other cosmetic items.  Nice to find a forum with other owners, so I will be asking many questions.  Thanks.

Here is my 1977 222

Shes got a 2016 115hp Etec on the back, a little gutless but gets us to 25mph. Unless I fall into an epic deal on something bigger I'm going to run this motor as long as I can.

Planning to give her a good refresh over teh winter, with new paint and replacing all the wood for PVC so I don't need to worry about it breaking. Really want to rebuild the sliding roof hatch. It leaks where teh bolts go through the rails, and the hatch comes out of the rails when opening unless your super careful.

If anyone has tips on rebuilding/restoring the sliding the hatch and strengthening the cabin roof so it doesn't flex as much, I'm all ears

Looks good, the cuddy deck more than likely the ply they used is compromised. Rot from screw penetrations and top cleat and even the sliding deck brackets. I’m currently doing same repair on my project using 3/4” ply and glass. The pins that slide in hatch brackets may need to be longer so sliding hatch doesn’t come out of brackets? Wonder if someone modified it before.

The Cuddy deck has no ply. Just straight fiberglass with wood ribs running left to right approximately 24" oc

The deck glass has wood bonded to it underneath for strength. Both my FF boats they only put resin on the exposed wood on the inside. Look from inside cuddy , is it carpeted or covered?

It used to be carpeted. I ripped out all the carpet as it was full of ant nests when I got the boat. I have no plywood on the ceiling.
At the front of the boat, I took all the bolts out for the anchor and cleats someone had added, and made a 24" plate washer from 3/16" aluminum and reattached everything through that so the anchor would have some strength instead of just pulling on the glass. I'll get some a couple pictures later, I plan to be working on the boat this morning after getting some chores done.

Here is the inside of the cabin roof. In the front you can see the big plate I made to support the anchor and cleats.
Its all just fiberglass and glue residue with some stringers.

Ok , Yea they stripped the old wood out. Originally Aquasport installed some wood runners that ran along the sliding hatch opening on both sides underneath from the bulkhead to bow front. Between them was ply forward of sliding hatch opening. The bolts go through deck top runners and and lower runners. My 222 FF runners the hatch slides in are stainless steel. Not sure they were original all I have seen are wood as with my 79 19.6.

Could I bug you for some pictures?
I am going to have to rebuild my rails and hatch in the winter. I can't open it without it sticking or popping out of the tracks

I am thinking about replace the wood supports on the ceiling for new material, and then gluing plywood between them, direct to the ceiling and supporting them off the wood runners
