Sweet set up.  I've been looking for a hardtop or tower for mine and I was wondering what it would do to the balance of the boat.  Can you share any info on horsepower, cruise/max speed and how it handles with the tower?  It looks like a modified v hull.

well i have only had it for about a month now but it seems to handle great, its got a 120 johnson it tops out at 34mph gets up on plane very fast, it does feel a little top heavy at times but not to often i would imagine most tower boats seem to feel that way at times, but over all its a stable boat on the water.

dont know if you noticed or not but it has a fold down tower with controls up top as well as the hardtop

I did see that fold down portion, nice layout.  Is that a 19 or 22?  I would have thought a 120 would be underpowered for a 22.

its a 19-6 i thought for sure it was gonna be way under powered with all the extras but i am quite happy with the performance of it, a little more speed would be nice but i think to much more speed and the boat would probly feel a little unsafe on the water.

I just found this area and am very pleased to see that there are other FF owners out there, I thought everybody was only interested in center consoles. I've had my 1975 222 FF for four years and love it. It spent most of its life on lifts on Marco Island so is in very original condition except for the 1997 Mariner 175 that the previous owner put on to replace the original Johnson 175. The original purchase paperwork and owners manual came with the boat so there is a good history in place. I put in a new tank, did some electrical work and put in a new water pump. She is used for a little fishing, lots of beach runs, dolphin tours, and trips out for lunch at Goodland, as in the first picture.

I've got the same boat/same year.  It looks like you have the 20" transom and modified V hull.  Can you give us some numbers on how well she does with that 175 and what kind of ride quality you get with the modified V?

I see about 36 knots on the GPS with year old bottom paint and the top up. That is only a little over 5000 rpm so I maybe should have a lower pitch prop. Top speed is not important to me so I'll leave it the way it is.
 I have never run a deep vee so I can't compare the ride. It is some better than my Northcoast 21 (Lema 19 hull) that I have in RI.
