Keep what you have and rebuild from the ground up. Like the man said, they all need to be rebuilt anyway. I really don`t think anyone buy`s one of these old boats to flip and make money on anyway... We talked about this before; I would rather have $20K in a classic that that is a head turner at 40 years old and appreciating; than having $20K+ in a new chop gun, Euro ass, bloated cap, depreciating wanna-be hull, that everyone with two nickels can buy. She is less than what we had hoped for but she still has the pedigree and potential. Make an engine stand and start stripping her now... Get her into project mode and it will break the funk. The faster you start tearing into her the quicker you will be able visualize what she will look like when shes restored. GO FOR IT!!

Sent the old man the pics shown here on the board to jog his memory, plus a letter reiterating his son's damage and demand for return/satisfaction. Has until Monday to respond.

Sent the old man by Fedex a cordial letter and 25 photos of the damage. Arrived at his place yesterday, he refused delivery of the package, said they had the wrong address.

Now I KNOW the old man knew about it all along.

Well, this type of behavior does not surprise me.  You guys know I'm a THT rat, and this type of thing happens all the time.  I would imagine it's not just the boating world.  If any of you have read the various complaints that make it to the forums about A1 Outboards, you know what I am talking about.  It's unfortunate that some people will conduct business in this fashion, and it's a shame that they let things go for so long that the person "wronged" has to go and plead his/her case (yes, A1 has screwed (not literally) women as well as guys...) in a public manner in hopes that peer pressure will force an eventual end to the situation...

I was on Fish the Classic yesterday (Shamrock owner's site), there was a thread on bilge pumps under the motor, the mention of a low-profile pump (Whale Super-Sub) came up.  Well, I just happen to have a brand new one out in the shop, been sitting there doing nothing for the last couple of years.  Asked if anyone wanted it cheap, had one of the members PM me, sold.  Now, he's not sending the money until tomorrow, but I already have the pump boxed up, the shipping label on it, and it will go out in tomorrow's mail, 2-3 day priority. That's the way internet purchases should be done.  Now, granted, it's not a high dollar item.  If it were, I'd probably wait until the money arrived, but the item would still be boxed and ready to go.  

In the "case" that CB resurrected here, there are obviously many more factors involved than there are in selling a simple bilge pump.  I also believe that Laz didn't help his situation by making the delivery a bit more difficult than it should have been.  I also don't know if the agreed price was a $1000 for the boat, and then the delivery was thrown in for free, or if the $1000 included delivery.  If not, I, as a seller, would have tacked on at least another $100 for fuel and wear and tear on the truck.  But that is beside the point.  That entire deal was flawed, but, in retrospect, there is nothing that Laz could have done about the way it transpired, other than what he stated he did...

When dealing with individual sellers on the net, well, the old saying, "You pays your money, you takes your chances" always applies.  The majority of people who frequent forums such as Classic AS and THT are good, honest people.  But there are always the few...well, you know what I mean!

The sad saga of Miss Marco has finally reached closure.

You guys may remember that back in December Miss Marco was shipped to Coast to Coast Rebuilders in Port Richey. I paid the shipping in exchange for a livewell, seat, and seat back. The boat was free to them. The livewell was brought home by the delivery guy. Try as I may, they never would deliver the other parts. Month after month went by. In the end, the owner, Christopher Wolchok, ignored my phone calls and e-mails.

Fitz and I went there last Friday unannounced and got the seat top. The flip-back rest they didn't have, so we took another part in its place. Money-wise, it turned out okay. Thank goodness Fitz was with me...we took a chance, and it worked out.
