Those look great but a little pricey.  I need to get my skeg welded up or put something like that on.

I did try the Blackfin skeg.

for those that missed it
I did an install post
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2080

and a follow up post
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5428&hilit=+blackfin

Even if you are not interested, everyone needs to watch the 30 second video on the Blackfin home page.

At this point my boat is in a friend's shop all buffed and waxed, new emblems, waiting for new stripes. Over the rest of the winter, new dash panel to hold gauges,(old one cracked at every mount hole) replace rusty bolts on trailer,And last but not least a new door frame on the center console.( going to try Azack pvc trim board) On the wish list is A new electronics box and new spreader lights :!:

For me, as per the thread on Trim Tabs and Fitz's suggestion-

-Install a wedge on my port sternwell to eliminate the running list
-Install more screened thru-hulls on the livewells to increase flow at rest
-Install my new Uniden VHF (can't beat free, w/ a 3yr Warranty to boot)
-Install the new Extension Handle on my TrollMotor (free also, not really a project, I can do this on the water)
-Install some fenders to go over my bare naked tires on my Trailer
-And finally, if I decide that I care, repaint the faded / Muriatic Acidified Bottom Paint.

BTW- That Muriatic acid that was suggested to remove the yellow stain on my boat definitely did the trick.  But it also ruined my bottom paint.  Thanks a lot guys

now that the outboard is winterized and prepped for next season my project list includes....

repair/replace if needed original fuel tank and hoses.

go through the wiring and get things working as they should.

replace the faded teak with mohogany(left over decking)

get the baitwell working

re-install cooler seat (presently at the apolsterers-having a custom cover made too)

above are the things I need to do this winter....below is the "wish list"

Find a used t-top and install

remote spotlight

locate a stock ancor door and console door

find and install a stock fishbox (below deck)

make a new fold down transom board (out of mohogany) with a notch so that the motor can be trimmed all the way up w/o hitting it or having to fold it down.

I'm sure there will be more as I get into it but, this is more than enough for now.

If anyone runs across some of the things on my wish list....doors/fishbox etc please shoot me a pm or post a link, thanks,

Steve

I have been considering this since I read your post, I have a brand new, never been installed Jabsco Remote controlled Spotlight, I bought for my boat when dreaming of all the things I was going do to her after I bought her.  However, I just don't do that much night-ops, and for what I do, a hand held is fine.  You can have it for what I gave.  So not to de-rail this thread, give me a PM and I'll shoot you pics and details.  If you don't need, reply on here and I'll post in the classified.  Thanks :salut:

Wow, you guys are makin' me sweat....good stuff.

Jess, since you're not really using the bottom paint...how about a little taped-off flat black spray paint on those stripes?

(I like Spar-Var)

Glad it wasn't me who recommended that acid.....

Well, I do have a need for the bottom paint a few times a year.  I dock the boat at the girlfriend's parent's house for a few weeks every now and then, so I'd like to keep it.  It eases my mind.

It's no big deal to reapply the paint- will be much easier the 2nd time around, and my buddy has a nice shop with a forklift.  I really should have been more careful using that acid- my Dad was very against it when I told him I was going to use it.  He always said a Hard Head makes a Soft A$$- still rings true today :)

That mess will stain a galvanized trailer, too. But must say, it works when nothing else will.

Its great that Paige's folks let you keep the boat in the water there. She is such a nice young lady. Perhaps you should avail yourself of my services...

1) I have added a second display overhead so i can watch chart/sonar/radar with out splitting screens.
2) Working on minor electrical problems
3) Time to recoat the teak once it gets above 50!!!
4) Adding a stainless steel bow to break ice  (just kidding)
5) Adding a second VHF with built in fog signals
6) New water pumps, plugs, filters and thermostats
7) Add LED courtesy lights in cockpit
8) Repair rotted backrest on leaning post

That should keep me busy for a while.
