I wasn't a big fan of it at first.  Previous owner put urethane over it and really messed it up.  I was thinking about getting rid of all of it and replacing it with Starboard.  My son and I put about 35 - 40 manhours into refinishing it.  In the end, I'm glad I kept it.

I wish I had some secret, but it was simply a lot of sandpaper and teak oil.  Depending on how bad it was, I removed the urethene and weathering with a 60 or 100 grit paper and then worked my way up to 180 grit.  Cleaned it off, and followed-up with several coats of Watco teak oil applied with a t-shirt.

I'm a DIY guy and I have no idea how long it will hold up, but plan to clean and recoat at least once a year or as needed.

Oh yeah...I took the door to the anchor locker door apart and sanded the frame and each of the louvers individually and then reassembled.  The reassembly part was a true test of patience as it took me a while to align all of the louvers in the left and right sides of the door frame.
