Well now that my 4-drawer tackle center has been installed under my casting platform, and my new switch panel is installed, I think the next order of business is installing my freshwater tank & pump in the Haitian hatch (ala Tournament Master edition).

Other needs:
New rub rail.  Damn that project just doesn't sound like fun.
Trailer axle work.  See above comment.

Amen to #1.

#2- I bought a Standard Horizon Eclipse GX1100S fixed mount last year, and cut a hole in my console to house it flush-mounted. Removed the old 3' whip antenna, added an 8' Shakespeare antenna.  The radio has the DSC connections to my GPS, with a little Distress button that is reserved for cases of dire emergencies only, such as running out of beer.  :eye:

replace some rusty bunk brackets is all I need to do, I hope.  Nothing wrong with them, just looking like crap.  Tires are getting dry rot cracks but they will wait until spring.

Any Standard Horizon or Icom VHF will do you just fine.  They are limited by FCC rules as to talk power and they all have to have DSC now so anything else is just whatever bells and whistles you want to pay for.  Cobra is junk.  I have two Cobra Marine VHF handhelds that I can yell farther than they will talk.  :pig:

Winter project includes:
- Wash and Wax the WHOLE boat
- redo the trailer bunks
- install 12volt outlet in the cabin
- install a 2 battery perko switch along with 2 batteries (only have 1)
- install new VHF
- install a amp, IPOD port on the dash & 2 new Bazooka speakers, not sure if I am going to go with the 2 way 8" or the 3 way 6x9's ???
- And last but not least, if the wife will go for a new Fish finder/Chartplotter with a 8" - 10" screen!

Pull both 115`s, replace corroded brass drain plug inserts that are partially covered by the motors!
Pull tank hatch, check tank and fittings (New in 95`) Replace 1995 vintage fuel lines.
Reconfigure transom livewells for improved and controlled circulation and remove the hydroelectric power plant water flow that beats Pogy`s into fish chowder!
Recore front hatches that are beginning to creak when you walk on them.

To be done by March Cobia run up the east coast...

Keep in mind there are two types of DSC on VHF radios.  Get the class D type.

OK where to start:
Just had the boat shrink wrapped last week already changed out all the battery cables they were original to boat, started redoing all the grounds with new ground block and relocated to a dryer area ,started building a new switch panel for the helm using lighted contura switches, still to do clean up the wireing in the helm and add a new bluesea fuse block for my electronics run permenant wiring to breaker panel in cabin for head overboard dischargeand last but not least add a second house battery to run parrallel with the one I installed last year.I think that should keep me busy until the spring stripers start

I hope to use mine to catch some reds up on the manatee river.  We will see if my son and wife let me.

I need to replace my tires and wheels on the trailer.
Weld a new skeg on my lower unit then repaint.
Maybe send my prop out to have more cup put on it.

My other projects will be insulate the roof in my old house ( if anyone wants to help)
Fix the soft spot in roof ( I think that is more important than AS stuff  :( )
Along with too many other projects that have already been started!

I guess you have seen these, but thought it would be a lot easier than dis-assembly and welding on the foot?? I know they make stainless ones also??
