Capacity Plate information by boat type:
- Boats powered by outboards: the maximum persons capacity in pounds and maximum
weight capacity (persons, motor and gear) in pounds and maximum horsepower capacity.
- Boats powered by inboards and stern drives: the maximum persons capacity in pounds
and maximum weight capacity (persons and gear). (The Coast Guard Safe Powering
Standard does not apply to inboards, stern drives, etc.)
- Manually propelled boats: the maximum persons capacity in pounds and maximum
weight capacity (persons and gear).

Believe it or not, the CG uses 150 lbs. as the weight for one person when determining persons capacity...stock up on skinny people!

Well looks like the boat I have cannot carry to many big people, I guess I will have to fish alone.

 :thumright:

Just stay with the number of people it specifies and I don't think anyone will mess with you.  Now, if everyone is 300# maybe you need a bigger boat. ;)

Scott,
That's alright.  According to Table S-30 of the ABYC loading requirements for propulsion equipment, for a 115 HP motor, add in 561 lbs. to the total equation...

Actually, it can be more.  Have insomnia?  Read this...http://www.abycinc.org/committees/s-30.pdf.  Of course, I used to have to read it...amd make SENSE of it, while at work...
