Got my first Aquasport Today
« on: November 13, 2010, 10:47:45 PM »
I traded my 2000 Bass Tracker Pro Team 165 for a 1997 Osprey 200, even trade today. By the time I drove to Jacksonville, checked over the boat, compression check, etc. and drove home, it was a long day! Time well worth it:)

Congrats. Quite a difference in boat styles in where you just came from - you'll enjoy her.

You'll love it.  Mine is identical but a 1996 model.  Johnson 130.  Handles great, roomy, great for fishing, skiing, etc.  I can't say enough good things about that hull.

Sorry for the delay Glock Diver, I was busy re-wiring her. Everything was in great shape except for the wiring and circuit breakers, why they put those in there I will never know. The fella that had it before me decided that if the breaker died, he would just cut some wires, crimp on gator clips, and let her rip..........no fusing:( I finally decided to err om the safe side and pull all new wiring......I was afraid he may have done something questionable below the deck. She has all new wiring, marine ATC fuse panel, LED courtesy lights and livewell light, and short of some guage lights that I have to replace, everything is working great. I will add LED lighting around the top outer rail of the T-top for shrimping, and landing fish at night. Gave her a yearly service, which was needed also.

Oops, got sidetracked. We will be using her for the Indian River Lagoon for reds and trout, Haulover Canal and Oak Hill for drum, red, trout, and shrimping, and near shore for King fishing. On some of the calm days when we have a high pressure system squatting over us, I will go out and troll for dolphin, and live bait for some Amberjack, bottom fish, etc.

Her maiden voyage will be Friday after Thanksgiving, but now we have a naming problem. I was going to name her WhazzupII, we have already had a Whazzup, but my daughter insistes on "Jenny" because it was Forrest Gump's shrimp boat. LOL, we will see how that one plays out, but somehow I think I have already lost the battle :?
