Fuse holders and opinions...

Gentlemen,
I don't like fuse blocks, every boat I've ever yanked one out of, well, it looked like (corrosion/rust/whatever), yet we all have equipment that simply can't be accomodated by the existing switch/breaker panel.

So here's what I have done on the Hydra-Sports I'm currently working on...


Note the fuse holders.  I will affix this laminated pic to the access door directly below the fuse holders...

What do you guys think?

That's fine Bob.  
I will say that I have had a Blue Sea fuse block for 6 years now with no issues and no corrosion.  It's actually fairly exposed.  I could make a pic tomorrow.  Before I installed I took the screws out and painted everything metal with dielectric grease and squeezed it down into the fuse slots.

Okay, I did not feel like taking the cover off but I found this picture.  The fuse block is just above the battery switch in the lower left.  There is no door or cover for the console opening and as you can see it's quite exposed and I have not had any issue with corrosion.

Glad to hear you have had good luck with the Blue Seas Block.  It's just a personal thing with me...  

I'm going to start fabbing breaker boxes, small, compact, nothing fancy, easy access to the innards, yet waterproof, that I can use for the equipment that won't "fit" on the existing breaker/switch panel...

I just am not a fuse guy...

Yep.  It's all a Ford/Chevy/Dodge thing.  They all get the job done.  ;)
