Funds were hurting and I posted it 1 time and decided not to sell an hour after posting it. Easier to tell people its sold. Sorry steve...I still have the boat and the rebuild is going well.

Thats cool. I just picked up a 24 Pro. Getting ready to start the rebuild process my self.

Finally had some time to do some work on the boat and purchase materials. My boss who is the owner of a fiberglass business recommended against the 1708. He said that the 1808 0-90 is the way to go so that is what I ordered. I know that the difference between the 1708 and 1808 is the oz weight but what is the difference between the 45-45 and the 0-90?

I'll guess.

It's the angle at which the strands are woven say 45 degrees.

If it's non woven, the two are stitched together at 45 degrees thus making a 90 degree stranded cloth.

This is a guess made by looking at some fabric I have here. I don't know a lot about it.
I would think someone here does but may not be following this particular rebuild. That's a guess too.

Hopefully someone now will correct me and you'll get your answer.

Good luck.

Lets be clear, there are two types of of biaxial cloth (which is not woven): 45 deg and 90 deg.  The ONLY difference between the two is the strand orientation.  On the 45 deg, the strands run at 45 degrees relative to the roll.  On 90 deg, its 90 degrees relative to the roll (so one is parallel to the roll, one is perpendicular)

Personally I would opt for 45deg on almost everything, for one reason: when you glass over anything with a gap, transition, etc... you want the strands to cross over that gap / transition, whatever.  If you're using 90 deg, you only get the 0 deg strands running across what you're bonding.
