Yes it is a beautiful place! Sunday morning we had all decided that fishing on Saturday was enough so no boating on Sunday for us. Bridget and myself had decided that rather than stay in town away from the water we would try to find a place on the beach. We found the Ocean Crest motel right on the beach for about 70 a night. Jesse and Paige stayed there too. The motel shares parking with the Ocean Crest pier. and since we weren't going out on Sunday I decided to try the pier out until everybody was ready. As Scott just told you the bait on Saturday was in front of the Maison Barbie. On Sunday however it was surrounding the pier. I was out there for about 2 hours and only saw a couple of flounder and one whiting caught the whole time. But, the sunrise was amazing and I got some really cool pics of how these guys fish off the piers. Check out how close the boats were to the pier. At times you could see down into them they were so close. As you came onto the pier that morning there was a church having a sunrise service on the pier with music and everything. Out at the end of the pier the guys king fishing were cussing and throwing their anchor weights at the boats. It was quite a contrast from one end of the pier the other!

Ya gotta love this pier cart!!!!

Hey Guys, sorry I haven't had a chance to comment on such a great trip yet- the weather here has been pretty hairy.  I've been afraid to touch anything electrical up until now

anyway-

I just want to add that Paige and I had a great time.   :bounce:   The weather was great, and the company was even better.  Even though my boat was the only Osprey, we ran just fine with the big dogs (ccp's)  8)  to be fair the water was very forgiving on Saturday, and even though we didn't catch much more than bait (I think Scott caught the entire adult school of menhaden), it was a cool experience to be on the water with a small fleet of Aquasports.   Thanks Lewis for being so accommodating and making the trip possible!  It was great to meet you John- thanks for the great food, conversations, and venue.  It was top notch.  JD- It was great to meet you as well -  Keep the hull color!  Let me know when you're interested in some modern power.  And thanks Scott for being such a character- I could have told "Fish Tales" with you all night    Really though, it was an excellent trip that we wont forget.  I look forward to the next gathering  :salut:

P.S.  The schedule said to be on the water by noon.  So we adhered.  And I slept in when I had the chance

And here's a pic of my own-

 :)  :)  :)

edit:  Has anyone seen my Fishing for Miracles bucket?
edit 2:  Scott has my bucket.  I'll get it from you next time sir.  Use it until then- It's lucky  :albino:

I will keep the lucky bucket 'till we meet again!

And that pic of the happy couple is awesome....

Thanks again for coming!

Best to you both,

Scott

Just wanted to say thank you to John and Scott for setting this up :salut:   The hospitality was incredible and everything right down to the fishing was well put together.  This was a great event and hoping that you guys will put something together in the spring :!:

Jesse and Lewis it was great to meet you guys :salut:   It was great that you guys were able to come considering the distance.  Jesse, you will be hearing from me as far as "modern power" goes.  Hoping to look you up early next year when the funds come together.

Thanks for all the help with my engine issues :!:  We have all been there at one point or another and know how it feels.  Just glad she ran great when it counted :)

I feel like that I made some good friends and that is always a great thing to have

Hey folks - sorry for the lack of text, but I was posting the pics from the CLT airport while waiting to board the plane.  Now here in LAS - that's "Vegas" for everyone here - I can be more "wordy."

A very special salute and thanks to Scott - he was the Emperor of Oyster, and the Friar of Fish!   :salut:   Scott brought all this equipment out to make it all happen and it did!  Also thanks to everyone for bringing some food for the dinner - I think we all ate well and had a great time.  Even the dogs Ginger and Boo-Boo got a chance to meet some nice, new folks!   :geek:

I think I have a new t-shirt idea - what do y'all think about "Got Bait?"   :fish:   Scott could answer that with a few hundred pogies in one throw!

It was great to meet some new faces from Hotlanta and Heaven (that's what Betsy's relatives call Charleston  )  And the 19-6 went out there and ran with the big dogs!   :thumleft:  Nice sweatshirt Bridget!  And thanks for the shrimp - they were great fried and scampi.  Lewis took the helm on Gone Fission for a while and said it was like the 5,000th Aquasport he's driven - or was it 5?    One thing for sure, put Lewis and Scott in a room together and it won't be boring!

And for the other John - Dupree, I agree to keep the Tahatian Tan - Ellyn-Ruth looks good that way - paint the bottom, not the sides!    Thanks to Big Mike for parking my truck where I could find it - it's good to borrow a First Mate if'n you don't have your own...

So thanks for everyone for making the Aquasport Octoberfest fun!

John thanks, I'm with you. It was an awesome weekend, from start to finish. Just being with wonderful folks.....and the weather.....wow!

My idea of heaven is cooking for a big crowd, and then watching the chow-down....its the best! So thanks again guys for coming and being "the crowd" ....

T-shirts would be great....how 'bout "Got Bait?" on the front, and "Classic Aquasport.com" logo on the back?

And JD, I'm with the boys....leave "Ellyn-Ruth" Tahitian Tan...check the pics, she looks great!

I'd now appreciate the opportunity to address ALL of the members of Classic Aquasport.com....especially those folks in the Northeast, Great Lakes, California, Texas, etc. Our group here in Georgia and the Carolinas have just discovered what our Florida cousins already knew: these reunions are the icing on the cake for your experience here. Seeing the boats, meeting the people, enjoying new friendships, participating in something of common interest...its hard to describe. Guess its that the cyber-world morphs to reality....Way Cool!

So ......we all encourage you to do the same in your area. If you are invited, don't think about it for a second. We all know the things that go through our minds, our spouse's minds, etc......forget all of that....just GO! Trust me, it will be an experience you won't forget, and certainly won't regret! You'll have a BLAST!

In the meantime, be safe, tight lines, and....

GO CLASSIC AQUASPORT!

Hey Octoberfesters!

Ya'll remember when we headed offshore from the beach and ran out to all of those boats fishing the Fall Brawl KMT?

That place was called "The Lighthouse Rocks"....here is what was caught there Sunday morning:

A day late and a dollar short....story of my life... :D

They said the place was on fire Sunday morning.....maybe from all the chum on Saturday?

Here are a couple of pics Mike took with his cell phone of the rest of us from the Ellyn Ruth.

Here are a couple of pics of Jesse dealing with the pogys. I had to resize them and just now had a little time to fix them. Great job taking them Paige! Scott, that was a heck of a catch for one throw!

So, I made it home from vacation!  The meet was a great way to start a weeks vacation!  I had a great time meeting everyone and fishing, John, great job with the steaks!  The fish and shrimp were great as well Scott.  It was a shame that JD and I had the motor problems, it sounds like Sunday was a blast.

Just for everyone else, I joined JD fishing Saturday while my family began their vacation in Myrtle Beach, I joined on Sunday.

Scott, I can't wait to see your new project finished.

Jesse, That little boat moves!

Lewis, got your message will call Sunday afternoon.

Mike
