Octoberfest Aquasport Reunion
« on: September 14, 2010, 10:08:05 PM »
Captain John and I would like to take this opportunity to invite all to the first annual Octoberfest Aquasport Reunion, Saturday, October 23rd, 2010.

We are currently looking at Southport, NC, 30 miles southwest of Wilmington.  Founded 1730.  Quaint, historic fishing village at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Easy access to famed Bald Head Island and the Atlantic. Excellent fishing. BIG king mackeral run then. Great flounder/spec/redfish fishery. Fun shopping on main street. Restaurants on the water. AND.....oysters will be in season.....AND....fried spots will be in season!

Open invite to ALL Aquasport owners. Fly in, drive in, trailer in, whatever, no problem. The more the merrier. You guys up north, the weather here then is awesome. Nothing like beautiful fall weather on the Carolina coast. SC, Ga, easy trip here. Our Florida cousins, come on, would be a blast to put faces with names.

Welcome.....and ya'll come!

Would love to be there, I have family in Savannah, actually that is where I went to buy the Osprey a year ago.  However, I will be setting sail for the Carribean that day out of NOLA.  Maybe the next one.  Enjoy.

Just for Reference:

I'm not sure if I'm going to make it, I'm still debating... That's just quite a haul for me, and my old truck is getting tired.  If I can find someone with a more modern tow vehicle who wouldn't mind making the trip with me, I'll go...  or maybe I'll put a hitch on the Honda.     Pending.

Hey Charleston guys - come on up - it's 150 miles and an easy drive.   :thumleft:

240 miles for me from LKN, but as the Hot Rod Lincoln song says, "the brakes are good, and the tires are fair..."

Fishing is usually great that time of year around Southport and Cape Fear - reds, spots, and specks inshore; with kings, some spanish, and flounder on the reefs a few miles off the beach.  We will see how the weather looks when we get closer, but we're looking at a location where we can have the boats in the water, do some visiting/socializing, and maybe have some food.  We will try to work out some special deals on accomodations for those who want to stay over - so stay tuned!

See you there for Aquasport Octoberfest!

Have you guys figured out your gathering place yet? Like with GPS coordinates and such? Got the celebrity lineup yet?

Pretty soon we'll be nation wide

Yep, it will be Southport, NC, approx. 28 miles SW of Wilmington, NC... home of Jim Cantore  ( his girlfriends live here anyhow).

No GPS coordinates yet. Cap'n John is the tech guy. My specialty is promotion....shoulda been a carny barker.... :D

Details upcoming on the gathering here. Still negotiating with several young starlets. Trust me, she will be worthy of the title "Miss Aquasport 2010".  All Aquasporter's are welcome....ya'll come!

Look at the nose and you will see it's a Fiero with a Lambo body kit.  The nose of the real thing is much different.  And it's powered by either an inline 4 or a V-6, not a 640HP V-10 like the real thing...
