I have a 1978 19'6" that has a 175hp Mariner. My top speed on the GPS with one person on the boat is 55mph. On the Coast Guard plate it recommends nothing over 180hp.
I hope this helps.

I second Warts Brownspoint comment.  I ordered some stuff for my new 4 strk Johnson from them (filters, sparkplugs, etc) Even stuff that is not so regular, they shipped next day. :D

So Blues, how is the new motor?  Did you get everything ironed out?  How does it run on your boat?  How's the extra weight of the 4 stroke affect the boat?

You gotta be Jones'n.  You've had that motor for a while now.  I remember you were having some rigging parts issues or something.  Keep looking toward the sea....

I have a 200 Mercury 2-stroke on my 22-2CCP.  It runs dead-on 40 MPH at 5300 RPM with a 19 pitch stainless prop.  I hope this helps...

Sounds like you need to send Guido and Da Boyz over to pick up the props.     This has gone on long enough.
