batteries... boat and truck

well my AS and my ol' F150 need new batteries real soon, what brand batteries have y'all had luck with?

i had good luck with my optima red top but dont see myself spending 190 bucks for 1 battery again

I don't buy a lot at Autozone, but their batteries are top notch IMO, but only the duralst gold for your truck, and this one for your boat.

My last boat had one of these in it for 6 years without a fault, of course I turned the bat off during extended periods of non-use.  My Osprey has two new ones in it, lots of power.

In Florida you can expect to get two years out of a battery.  The heat just kills them.  I have had good luck with Wally World batteries, Auto Zone, and for my Diesel work trucks Interstate Batteries.    The biggest thing to consider is the warranty you can get and ease of getting a new battery under warranty.   Generally the higher you pay for the battery the better the warranty is.  Thats it.  Yes they may have better plates in them but they will cook in two years in FL anyways.  I go to Interstate on 114th or 116th ave  just west of 66th Street.  Sometimes they have "blems"  available for considerably less but they have no warranty.

I've had good luck with the Duralast batteries as well. I have two in the 22-2 now, one group 24 and one group 27, and I have a spare group 24 in the back of the tow vehicle, all Duralast Marine Batteries. I've also had them in the Admiral's Jeep with good results (until a tree limb came down on the hood of the Jeep and collapsed the negative terminal).

Ditto on the Duralast 1000 CCA`s multipurpose; 2 under the console; spins the Mercs over like there isnt any spark plugs in them. I generally change them out every three years, working or not.

i went ahead and bought a 1000cca duralast dual purpose at autozone,  ill be needing a dual purpose for my truck also but more batteries will have to wait till payday, need gas money for the boat and truck lol

im gonna be setting my truck up with dual batteris in the near future...

Gonna throw in the Carolina twist ...we like the AC/Delco, fully warranteed. Go with the big boy, the 27 series, rather than the 24, cranking and deep-cycle. Quality product....you won't be displeased.

Sam's Club has optima marine for $155 - still a lot of money but less than you mentioned - and only warranteed for 2 years.

I have 3 grp 31 Lifeline AGMs on my boat. Pricey? yes, however they are five years old and still going strong.
