Deck fuel filler
« on: September 03, 2010, 01:46:45 PM »
I have a 1995 175 Osprey with a deck fuel illl on th starboard gunwale.

The black plastic cap (Perko) is cross threaded and seems to be hard to find so I wanted to replace the whole unit. I removed the 3 screws holding the fill pipe flange to the deck but it won't come off. Is there something else holding it in that I don't know about?

I know someone on this forum used to build Aquasports and has a wealth of information on them.

Thanks for any help in advance,

Bob on Tampa Bay

You have to get inside to release the hose clamp from the neck of the filler.  If you don't have an access plate, you will need to install one.  I would go 6"

Robob,
As Marc stated, although I assume you already did that.  Does the fill budge at all?  On boats with aluminum tanks, one of the fill mounting screws was a t/bolt, for the bonding wire.  But because your 175 has a plastic tank, and since you said you removed all three screws, I would guess the fill has 5200 underneath the flange...

Duh....I finally figured it out for myself:-)

There is a hose clamp on the fill tube just below the gunwale. I wasn't looking hard enough.

Thanks,
