Need some help

I am looking for a little help.My brother and myself picked up a 1984 222 xf. The motor blew. It was a 175 black max. We put on a 2010 225 e-tec. My questions are is the gas tank square on the bottom, how heavy is the boat and what kind of gas millage should I expect? I would be grateful for any feedback.Thank you.

Roofer - replaced the tank (85 gal) in my '88 222XF some years back. I had to provide very detailed sketches of the old tank to get the replacement made. If you are still looking for information and think the sketches would help, I'd be glad to e-mail them to you. Bill

Welcome Roofer - a deuce and a quarter eTec should be a nice choice on that boat!
Early 80s model 222XF weighs around 2500 lbs dry - add a couple hundred for foam moisture, and keep adding for gear, gas, motor, etc.
Tank is the same as used in the 222CCP. It has a belly bend in the bottom - it's not flat. The tank holds 85 gallons and looks like this - the black one is the new one:
See ya on the water!

Hi Bill,
I have a 1986 222XF that the fuel tank was missing from when I bought it. Could I get the size and info you have to get yours made? I would like to have one made over the winter.
Thanks! Johne

Here are the specs for the 85 gallon tank:
Tank top is flat
Tank length = 72”
Width at top = 24”
Width at bottom = 20”
Depth at center = 13” belly that slopes up to 12” at sides
Bottom has 8" wide flat center belly section that slopes up to sides
Depth (from top) at sides = 12”
Gas gauge port in center of top, with 2 fuel pickups aft of gauge port.
See earlier pictures or pm if you need more info.
Hope this helps - see ya on the water!
